Aquanita Racing is governed by a Board of Directors under the Chairmanship of avid racing enthusiast Peter Howell. The board of four committed and respected racing devotees meet regularly to review performance and develop the strategies that allow the Group to continually improve its performance. The Board includes two Directors not involved in the day-to-day operations of the business plus the experience and knowledge of Aquanita Trainer Robert Smerdon to give his council on daily racing operations.

Our Directors are Mike Symons a partner in leading corporate and financial advisory firm, Canterbury Partners, who is Company Secretary and oversees our Financial and Corporate Governance needs. Kim McKellar is a leading equine veterinary surgeon and one of the pioneers of hyperbaric chambers for racehorses that are the talk of the Industry at present. Kim assumes responsibility for Research and Development for the Group with a particular focus on identifying new tools and techniques to support our trainers in their preparation of horses for racing. Robert Smerdon represents the interests of all Aquanita Trainers in presenting the ideas of his colleagues to further improve the chances of your horse(s) racing to the best of their ability.

Key staff working in support of our Trainers include.

National Racing Manager - Damian Slocum
Damian provides the racing administration support to our four trainers. He is responsible for the day-to-day administration of nominations, acceptances and riding engagements, for the control and development of our TONS communication system and horse transport.

Racing Communications Coordinator - Sam Doran
Sam produces our reports via TONS as well as information for our website and general communications releases.

Administration Manager - Tania Hyett
Tania is responsible for the day to day running of the business. She administers the Owner accounts, Payroll and Prize money. She also oversees our Creditors.

Accounts Receivable - Karina Short
Karina is responsible for our Debtors. She administers the payments and handles owner queries. She also oversees our Superannuation and Workcover.
