| From The Horses Mouth |
I hope everyone enjoyed the first edition of the Aquanita Formguide and if you didn't I am open to suggestions, criticisms and contributions. No doubt as we are still in the early stages of the New Year, everyone has maintained the pledges and promises to lose weight, stop smoking and be kinder to the world in general.
Busy times abound with the sales season well and truly in progress. The flow on from the sales keeps everyone on there toes, from the Aquanita truck drivers moving the babies to their new homes, to the trainers, foreman, breakers, farriers and ground staff who look after each new arrival. These perspective champions will not begin to race until after the new season begins in August, but the preparation to reach the racetrack starts from the moment your horse comes under our care.
On the race course Aquanita has enjoyed many early year successes with Haradasun making an immediate impact with his return to racing on Australia Day. Robert produced Furio to win first up at Moonee Valley recently and he followed this up with a second in the Group 2 Alistair Clark Stakes. Robert also had a fantastic Mornington Cup Day winning the first race with Cockpit and the Cup with Hofmeister. Dan's recent city winner Lacey Underall has ventured to South Australia in search of black type and perhaps a tilt at the Adelaide Cup. Liam after a very successful Magic Millions is busy preparing his team for a big assault on the Brisbane Carnival.
Happy Racing

| Lucky Unicorn |
Here's a horse with a few frequent flyer miles. Bred in Australia, raced successfully albeit briefly in Hong Kong and returned to Australia all before his fourth birthday. That's the story of Lucky Unicorn the smart well bred son of Redoute's Choice raced by the Hong Kong based Lucky Owners Syndicate. Aquanita trainer Tony Vasil was given the chance to train the horse with the intention of enhancing his value for a stud career post racing. While Lucky Unicorn may seem to be flying under the radar compared to his more famous barn mate Haradasun, he is doing everything right for a career in the breeding shed. The lightly raced gallopers career record stands at 13 starts for 5 wins 3 seconds and almost $450k in prize money.
Lucky Unicorn has notched up wins at his last two starts one being in the Listed Chester Manifold Stakes. His next assignment will be the Group 3 TS Carlyon Cup over 1400m on Blue Diamond Stakes Day and if he continues to perform and improve, a shot at the Group 2 Blamey Stakes over 1600m at Sandown could be well within his reach this preparation.
Whilst Tony is sure Lucky Unicorn will have a career beyond racing he is hopeful of eking out another campaign with the horse after the current one. Lucky Unicorn has made an immediate impression with breeders on both sides of the Tasman with his racetrack performance good looks and confirmation. Apart from being by Redoute's Choice the heir apparent to Danehill, his dam La Bamba is by Last Tycoon who is proving to be an outstanding sire of broodmares. La Bamba is a half sister to Group 1 winners Masked Party and Festal and she is closely related to multiple Group 1 winner Dracula. Lucky Unicorn's full brother is set to go through the ring at the Sydney Easter Sale
Already there has been a steady flow of studs viewing the prospective stallion at the Caulfield stables. The decision to continue racing him of course will be made by the owners. The Lucky Owners if you will.
