| From The Horses Mouth |
For us mere mortals who have not reached the upper echelons of our chosen sport and are relegated to being just a spectator. For those of us who may have kicked the dew off in the reserves or who struggle to break a hundred on the golf course I would argue till I'm blue in the face that there is no greater highlight in sport than watching a horse - particularly your horse - flashing past the post first.
This month we had 4 horses break their maiden on the racetrack. The entire Aquanita team would like to pass on their congratulations to the owners and connections of Al Dietrich, Belle De Nuit, Gron Troo and Ventilla.
Happy Racing

Haradasun Rises
At only his ninth career start Haradasun reached the pinnacle of racing by winning the Group One George Ryder Stakes over 1500m.
The win was a superb achievement for Aquanita trainer Tony Vasil, his track team, vets, farriers and for the support staff back in Melbourne.
The win was made sweeter after a tumultuous month in Melbourne, which saw many questions posed about both horse and trainer.
To outsiders Haradasun had been disappointing in his last two runs in Melbourne and many racing experts raised queries as to whether the boom horse had burst his bubble. The trainer responded in the best A J Vasil way by going to ground, refusing to answer questions or speak to the media. He simply let his unwavering belief in the horse do the talking.
The reward for Tony and the Circles of Gold Syndicate was not just the George Ryder. The Doncaster, Australia's richest and most prestigious mile race was run just ten days later on Easter Monday. Haradasun joined a winner's list that reads like a who's who of Australian racing.

Lacey's Adelaide Adventure
Dan O'Sullivan again proved the theory that " from little things big things grow" when in a sterling training performance he took promising staying mare Lacey Underall from winning a mid week restricted race at Sandown in January to being beaten by inches in an Adelaide Cup run in race record time. Despite the efforts of her legion of fans who attended the races and some heavy whip riding by the grandstand jockeys, Lacey could not edge past the Graeme Rogerson trained Gallic. Gallic went on to win the Group One Sydney Cup at his next start.
While disappointed at least one of the owners Andrew Catterall could see the lighter side
It's easy to grin,
When Lacey comes in,
and you think you've got the bookmakers beat.
But a man's worth his while,
when a man still can smile,
when you've been beaten,
two weeks by a feet!

Dan O'Sullivan had two important jumps winners in Menkaure and Al Dietrich, which look promising for the coming winter season.
Liam Birchley recent run of success has him firmly lodged in the Brisbane trainer's premiership top ten, a fantastic reward for Liam and his staff.
Just a reminder that today's promising 4Yo winner of a restricted 2000m midweek race at Sandown is soon a lightly race 5Yo on a Spring Cups Campaign.
Fantastic to see a weanling by former Aquanita Champion Elvestroem reach a price of $200K at the Sydney weanling and broodmare sale
A full brother to recently retired Lucky Unicorn trained by Tony Vasil was sold for $1.6 million at the Sydney Easter sales.
Former smart galloper Helter Skelter trained by Liam Birchley has been retired and will begin a new career in the breeding barn in his native Queensland.
