Monday, 16 June 2008: If Haradasun justifies his lofty place in betting and takes out tomorrow night's Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot, breeders with mares already booked to him this year will be on extremely good terms with themselves.
Since being announced as a starter on the Coolmore Australia roster in 2008, bookings have been flying in for the son of Fusaichi Pegasus, but the phone will ring off the hook if he measures up to Group 1 company at Royal Ascot.
Haradasun stands at $55,000 in his debut season and is out to stitch up a shuttle career to the Northern Hemisphere with his current – and final – campaign.
Already a dual Group 1 winner in Australia, Haradasun has his second start for Aidan O'Brien in tomorrow's 1600m feature.
“The response to him has been fantastic,” Coolmore's Colm Santry said.
“He is going to cover a great book of mares this year and he will get the opportunity that he deserves.
“The Coolmore Australia team is looking forward to watching him tomorrow night.”
Haradasun is favourite with Australia's TAB Sportsbet for the Queen Anne, while British based Ladbrokes have him marked as a 5/1 second elect behind Johannesburg's last start French Group 1 winner Sageburg (9/2).
He had his first northern hemisphere start last month, when sixth in the G1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury, but O'Brien says the four-year-old has trained on strongly since that run.
Haradasun, from the wonderful Marscay mare Circles Of Gold, is out to improve on his half-brother Elvstroem's lone appearance at the Royal meet.
Elvstroem (Danehill) had won in Group 1 company in Dubai before heading to Europe.
He competed at the 2005 Royal meet (run that year at York), when third in the G1 Prince Of Wales Stakes (2000m) behind Azamour.
