Monday, 28 June 2010: New shuttle sires Big Brown and Red Giant left Kentucky last Saturday for their new southern hemisphere homes in Australia and New Zealand.
The pair departed Three Chimneys Farm with Red Giant on his way to Westbury in New Zealand and Big Brown bound for Vinery Stud in NSW.
Both stallions have gone into quarantine before they leave the US.
Red Giant is a son of Giant's Causeway and will be his third son to go to stud in Australasia, joining Shamardal and Footstepsinthesand.
Shamardal sired his 13th stakeswinner when Shamillion won the Listed Australia Post Stakes in Brisbane last Saturday while in Ireland Footstepsinthesand two-year-old Formosina took out the G2 Railway Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.
Red Giant will stand at Westbury Stud for an introductory service fee of $11,000 + GST.
His book will be limited to 120 mares.
