: Victoria's Chatswood Stud has been devastated by the death of internatiuonal Group One winner and sire Rakti.

Rakti stood at Chatswood Stud since 2006.
He had served 425 mares, missing only one season due to the Equine Influenza quarantine restrictions.
Rakti sustained an injury in his stable on Wednesday night.
He was found to shattered his pelvis and had pierced an artery.
A vet attended him immediately but the stallion could not be saved.
Rakti, winner of the G1 Derby Italiano, was ranked the world's joint-champion miler in 2004.
The 11-year-old was originally trained in Italy and went on to win another five G1 races following his purchase by owner Gary Tanaka, most notably the 2003 Newmarket Champion Stakes and Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Rakti (Polish Precedent – Ragera, by Rainbow Quest) won 11 of his 26 races.
His best runner so far in Australia and New Zealand is the Listed placegetter Arakti.
