Monday, 25 June 2012: Fasig-Tipton has catalogued 189 selected yearlings for its 92nd Saratoga Sale in New York on August 6 and 7, an increase of over 18% from the corresponding catalogue last year.
“The solid returns from 2011 have been rewarded by significantly increased numbers and quality to Saratoga from our traditional client base and from new sellers at the Spa,” commented Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning.

* A colt by Elusive Quality brought a sale record of $350,000 to top the final session of the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's 2012 June Sale of Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age in Florida.
He is out of Gypsy Hollow, by Dixieland Band, and is a half brother to stakes winners Gipson Desert and Dixie Emperor.
The previous June record sale price was $310,000 paid for a colt by Double Honor in 2004.
The two-day sale saw 395 2-year-olds sold for a record total of $10,249,100, compared with 344 horses grossing $7,141,700 last year.
The average was a sale record $25,947, up 25% from $20,761 a year ago.
