Monday, 16 July 2012: A pair of progessive 3YO fillies gave Arrowfield Stud's champion sires Redoute's Choice and Flying Spur a double at Caulfield on Saturday.
Bonaria (Redoute's Choice x Decidity by Last Tycoon) recorded a decisive three lengths win over 1200 metres.
The half-sister to Group winners Time Out and Legally Bay has now won or placed in eight of her 12 starts for the Pat Hyland stable.
She is one of six winners from the good producing Last Tycoon mare Decidity, who was covered last spring by Stratum.
The Redoute's Choice/Last Tycoon cross has a strike rate of 25 winners from 29 runners, including 8 stakeswinners including G1 winners- Dariana and Master Of Design.
Bonaria was foaled and raised at Widden Stud for her owner breeders Robert and Deborah Anderson.
The victory ended a frustrating run of minor placings for Bonaria, whose overall record is two wins and six placings from 12 starts with prizemoney in excess of $74,000.
Flying Spur's $450,000 yearling, Min River scored by almost two lengths over 2000 metres at Caulfield for the Pendant Equine Syndicate.
The filly is out of the Zabeel mare Fulton and was bred by Tony & Joe Bongiorno and s sold under the Torryburn Stud banner.
Min River and her Singapore Group-winning brother Flying Fulton are fine advertisements for the Flying Spur/Zabeel cross, which has produced 7 (15.9%) stakes performers from 44 named foals.
Now owned by Jonathan Munz's GSA Bloodstock, Fulton is in foal to Redoute's Choice who boasts 16.9% stakes performer/foals with daughters of Zabeel.
