Wednesday, 18 July 2012: Yarraman Park Stud has been delighted by the recent UK results for leading sire Invincible Spirit, whose only Australian based son I Am Invincible stands at the Hunter Valley nursery.

Last Saturday's GI July Cup at Newmarket was won by Invincible Spirit's four-year-old son Mayson.

He became the seventh GI winner for his sire when he charged to a five lengths win in the prestigious six furlong sprint, just weeks after Invincible Spirit's French GI winner Moonlight Cloud went within a head of defeating world champion sprinter Black Caviar in the GI Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The sire of 57 stakes-winners worldwide including multiple Australian GI winner Yosei, Invincible Spirit is currently in third place on the GB Leading Sires premiership by prizemoney behind Galileo and Montjeu.

A son of the influential Green Desert, Invincible Spirit is also proving his worth as a sire of sires.

His GI winning son Lawman has 37 winners led by GI Royal Ascot St James's Palace Stakes hero Most Improved as well as six other stakes performers in his first two crops.

Invincible Spirit stands at the Irish National Stud on a fee of 66,000 euros.

"Invincible Spirit has sired a lot of winners here in Australia from his couple of seasons at stud in Victoria and I have no doubt he would have been highly successful given further opportunity in this part of the world," said Yarraman Park's Harry Mitchell.

"In the two years since we decided to take I Am Invincible the stocks of his sire have continued to rise giving us much optimism for the future."

I Am Invincible covered 133 mares in his first season at stud and 140 last year.

"He had some stunning foals last year and we plan to take the best of them to the Magic Millions in January," Mitchell said.
