Friday, 20 July 2012: Tough Arena gelding Prince Of Capers joined the rare group of horses who have won in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide when he won over 1400m at Caulfield last Saturday,
The six-year-old has previously been successful three times in Sydney and three times in Adelaide.
He has now appeared three times in Melbourne for his win at Caulfield and two thirds at Flemington.
In the past year since leaving Sydney to join the Tony McEvoy stable in South Australia, he has won twice at Morphettville and once at Oakbank.
Earlier raced by his breeder Fred Peisah with Sydney trainer Bill Prain, Prince Of Capers won twice At Warwick Farm and once on the Kensington circuit.
He has also been second or third nine times and like so many of the hundreds of winners Fred Peisah has bred at his Lomar Park Stud bi over the past 40 Prince of Capers descends from a very fruitful foundation family.
He is a brother to Coliseo (6 wins including the Wagga Cup), Pleasure Ground (Sydney winner and dam of the Ascot Vale Stakes King Pulse) and two other winners.
They are from Palace Capers, a Sydney 2YO winning half-sister by Archregent to Friendly Seas, winner of three Sydney races and dam of the Lomar Park bred stakes winner Kid
Choisir.
Arena, the sire of Prince Of Capers, was a Victoria Derby, Canterbury Guineas and Hobartville Stakes
winner.
To date the son of Danehill has nearly 200 winners to his credit, including nine stakes winners, 13 other stakes performers and six who have won or placed at G1 level.
