The champion Vinery sire is now credited with 99 stakes winners and is poised to join the likes of Sunday Silence, Red Ransom, Danehill, Northern Dancer, Storm Cat and Mr Prospector as sires who produced 100 or more black type winners.
Former Queenslander Ready To Rip (More Than Ready x Lady Langham, by Danehill) is now the winner of seven races from 19 starts with earnings of $386,100. He is bred on the same cross that has produced G1 winners Dreamaway, Perfectly Ready and Benicio.
Ready To Rip's dam Lady Langham has produced six winners including Sir Lago (
Encosta De Lago) who was G3 placed in the Norman Robinson Stakes at Caulfield before going on to a successful career in Hong Kong.
Ready To Rip
is a direct descendant of the immortal Denise's Joy which makes him a close genetic relative of More Than Ready's 8-times Group 1 winner, More Joyous.
Ready To Rip, a $55,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling purchase from Baramul Stud, will be aimed towards the G2 P.B. Lawrence Stakes (1400m) in two weeks time after recording his second successive Melbourne win for his new trainer Peter Moody.
Lady Langham (Danehill x Winning Hit, by Shining Finish) foaled a colt by Mossman in 2010 and a filly by Discorsi in 2011 and is expecting a foal sired by War Chant this spring.
