Friday, 17 August 2012: Danehill's outstanding son Dylan Thomas) opened his account for the 2012/13 Australian season with a winning double at Thursday’s Kilmore and Gosford meetings.
The Gai Waterhouse-trained Agon (
Dylan Thomas x Stravinsky’s Image, by Stravinsky) kicked off the double when the three-year-old filly posted a comfortable maiden win at Gosford over 1200m.
Agon is the first foal to race out of the multiple metropolitan winner Stravinsky’s Image (Stravinsky x Off Stage, by Theatrical).
Ingham Racing paid $80,000 for Agon at the 2011 Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
Caulfield trainer Mick Price prepared the second leg of the
Dylan Thomas double when Zahee (
Dylan Thomas x Zaheeya, by
Encosta De Lago) disposed of two rivals over 1207m at Kilmore.
The Sheik Mohammad Bin Khalifa al Maktoum homebred scored a comfortable win in heavy ground.
Dylan Thomas, a six-time Group 1 winner, has now sired six Australian winners.
Dylan Thomas will stand for $13,750 (inc GST) in the spring.
