DESORMEAUX JOINS 5000 CLUB
Jockey Kent Desormeaux achieved a huge milestone on Sunday, July 27th at Saratoga Racecourse in Saratoga Springs, New York when he won his 5,000th race aboard Bella Attrice in the 7th race.
Desormeaux became only the 23rd jockey to achieve this distinction. The road to 5,000 was not easy, especially the last two wins. His 4,999th win came on opening day at Saratoga on July 23rd. Before that, his most recent win was on July 7th.
Desormeaux was inducted into the horse racing Hall of Fame in 2004.
