Entries For Myer Face Of Canberra Racing
Applications have closed and the search for this year's Myer Face of Canberra Racing will be the most exciting yet with a new record breaking entrant number of entrants for 2012.
Thoroughbred Park has received 54 entries into the competition now in its 4th year. Last year's entrants totalled 43.
“It's an indication that the competition is becoming increasingly popular” Sales & Marketing Manager and brainchild of the competition Briony Young said. “The competition allows for education to the public in the traditions and expectations of racewear etiquette”. She said.
Preliminary judging begins this Thursday at Tongue and Groove where each contestant will parade in front of a crowd. Entrants will be judged on poise, presentation and interpretation of their own Fashions on the field outfit. The parade will begin at 7:30pm and promotors urge spectators to be early for a good seat.
“We are excited to partner with Tongue & Groove to present the entrants and allow the judges to see how they handle the media and the spotlight”. Young said. “There is definitely a high calibre of entrants this year, it will be a tough decision for the judging panel”
Entrants will parade on Preview Day at Thoroughbred Park from where 10 finalists will be chosen. From the 10 a winner will be announced that day and the official handover will take place at the Chief Ministers Cocktail Party on Saturday 10 March.
