CHINA: In-build and To-be-built horse-related projects in China II

Tuesday, 24 April 2012: • Shanghai • Chongming • Chenjia Town Sports Leisure Resort

There are two major investments, sports leisure facilities and theme parks, in the "Experimental Towns" Planning of Chenjia Town, Chongming District, Shanghai. The second sports facility to be built in the Riverside Sports Leisure Park is a 525 mu polo field. It is said that apart from the first international polo field, an equestrian park that can raise horses for individuals will also be built.

• HK equestrian project

There will be a to-be-built equestrian project in HK. The stable is for riding for the disabled, which is a charity.

• Sichuan • Chengdu • Shixiang Lake Resort

The Poly•Shixiang Lake project is a world-class resort cluster that consists of a PGA-Level sports park, an equestrian club, a yacht club, high-end resort hotels, large-scale gardens, European-style resort towns and vacation houses, and original forest camping sites.

The international equestrian club is one of the five development clusters planned in the blueprint of Shixiang Lake Resort. As the first international-level equestrian club, it will open in 5 years to accommodate important equestrian games.

• Jilin Province • 1st Phase of Jianpeng Horse City

The Jianpeng Horse City will occupy a total area of 500,000 square meters. The 1st phase boasts 13,000 square meters of building area with a 220*110 arena, an 80*60 meter arena, a 90*40 meter indoors arena, and a 120-room stable. The horses to be imported include Akhal-Tekes, warmbloods and Arabian horses. The 1st phase will be completed in 2012. Jianpeng Horse City is the training base for Jilin Provincial Equestrian Team. It is built for the 2013 National Games.

• Inner Mongolia • Tongliao Plans to Build International Racecourse

Tongliao City in Inner Mongolia is going to build an international racecourse. The whole investment is estimated to be CNY 176 million that includes a 25,000 square meters main building, a 7,400 square meters horse-displaying field, a 2,200 meter standard racetrack, medical lane, museum and others. The tendering has already finished in March 2011 and the construction is expected to be completed by June, 2013.
