Monday, 18 June 2012: Irish 2,000 Guineas hero Power is the star name among 16 declarations for the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot on Tuesday
Aidan O'Brien's three-year-old landed the Coventry Stakes at last year's summer showpiece meeting and while he disappointed on his seasonal return in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket, he bounced back with victory in the Irish equivalent.
O'Brien has saddled three of the last five winners of this Group One prize and six winners in all, with the likes of Giant's Causeway and Rock Of Gibraltar on the roll of honour for Ballydoyle.
Power is not their only representative in this year's renewal, with Wrote given the chance to put a disappointing start to the season behind him.
A number of those who finished behind Power at the Curragh reoppose, including Bryan Smart's shock runner-up Foxtrot Romeo.
Born To Sea is an interesting contender for John Oxx, having flashed home to finish fifth in Ireland, while the sixth home, French colt Hermival, also runs again.
Brian Meehan runs the unbeaten Cogito, as well as the much vaunted Most Improved.
Impressive Haydock winner Gabrial and other French raiders Dragon Pulse and Lucayan are more notable contenders.
