Saturday, 7 July 2012: Just two Class 2 races which close today's card as activities start to wind down in Hong Kong.
Which is not to say that they will not be keenly contested. The Austin Handicap Class 2 is over 1200m on the All Weather. Earl of Leitrim has been getting very close to a win and this may be the race in which he can do it. He's on 3.7, with Chater Mikado 3.8 but that could all change between now and post time. Those two have been working well, as has Rich Tapestry 6.9, and another with a chance here is Happy Index 5.9.
The Bowring Handicap is also Class 2 over 1600m on the turf and on paper looks relatively open. Scarlet Camellia ticks a lot of boxes and is on 4.1. with Victory Master who ran well on his last outing on 4.8. Aomen is a good horse and 11.0 looks generous.
