Monday, 9 July 2012: Trainer Marco Botti has the Arlington Million in mind for Australian-owened Crackerjack King after being pleased with the British debut of the colt on unsuitable ground.
The four-year-old, purchased as a spring carnival prospects after winning seven of his first eight starts in Italy, finished fifth in the G1 Coral-Eclipse at Sandown on Saturday.
Botti said Crackerjack King could now head to Chicago.
"He's come out of the race fine," said the Newmarket trainer.
"He has taken it really well but, as I thought before the race, the ground was too soft for him.
"Ryan Moore said he just got tired in the ground.
“Without taking any credit from the horses in front of ours, who are very good, it was testing ground and we feel our horse definitely needs better conditions.
"I will have to confirm it with the owners, but I think we will go for the Arlington Million.
"As he has taken Sandown really well, that is the race we could aim for.”
