Friday, 13 July 2012: They are the two G1 highlights of the weekend, with the two G2s being the A Gleam at Holywood Park and the Delaware Oaks.
The Man o'War is over 2200m turf and all the runners are taking lasix (did that exist when Man o'War was racing?) including the Irish raider Treasure Beach who holds the call on 9/5. Point of Entry is 5/2, Newsdad 4/1 and we rather like Hudson Steele on 5/1.
At Holywood Park the American Oaks is over 2000m for the 3yof and is open to International runners however there aren't many. There is an international jockey in Japanese leading jockey Yuichi Fukunaga who rode Cesario to victory here previously. He's riding Left a Message. Mick Channon however has entered Navarra, so there's an international runner hopefully with a bit of a chance, and Lady of Shamrock could be worth following.
The A Gleam G2 is over 1400m for the 3+ f&m on the All Weather. We have no market for this but are considering Switch, Izzy Rules and Sugarinthemonring.
The Delaware Oaks is G2 over 1800m. There is a Dutrow bracket of Singlet and Grace Hall but it seems only one of them will run, on 7/5. Via Villaggio is improving and 5/2 looks good, with Aubby K on 9/2.
