Monday, 23 July 2012: While the English cyclists were storming home in the Tour de France, the English horses were doing something similar in the Prix Robert Papin at Maisons Lafitte.
Reckless Abandon (albeit with a French jockey Gerald Mosse up) finished ahead of fellow raider Sir Prancelot with Snowday third.
They weren't quite so lucky in the Eugene Adam which went to the Aga Khan's Bayrir, but Cogito was able to take second by a short head from the Godolphin France runner Fractional.
