Monday, 30 July 2012: Bob Baffert's Paynter proved far too good for the opposition in the G1 Haskell at Monmouth on Sunday.

Paynter scored an easy 3 3/4 lengths win over Nonios and Stealcase.
The Molly Pitcher went to Brushed by a Star, not the biggest outsider - that was Successful Song 19/1 who ran second, and third was the favourite R Gypsy Gold.
At Saratoga on Saturday the beautiful and popular Winter Memories continued in her program of winning races that had been won by her Dam Silver Memories and won the Diana on a sloppy track. Dream Peace, having only a second start in the US having raced mostly in France, ran second, and will remain in the US. Zagora was third. Tapitsfly had led but once into the straight Winter Memories produced a great run to pass the tiring leader who finished in fourth spot.
The Jim Dandy saw the leader stay on right the way through - Godolphin's Alpha, trained by Kiaran McLaughlin. He'll probably go to the Travers. Neck n Neck was 2 lengths back in second with Liaison the same margin away in third, Teeth of the Dog fourth.
At Del Mar a bit of a surprise when Rail Trip took out the San Diego Handicap, after a tussle with John Scott. Favourite Kettle Corn ran third.
Also big news from the US - Rachel Alexandra's colt by Curlin is to be called Jess's Dream, after Curlin's late owner Jess Jackson.
