Leading Sydney trainer Chris Waller has indicated that Junoob will push on to the Melbourne Cup after pulling up well from his Caulfield Cup run.

The former UK runner who took out the Group 1 Metropolitan at Randwick two starts back went on to run seventh in the Caulfield Cup on Saturday, finishing 2.3L away from the winner Admire Rakti

Junoob, who is yet to run past 2414m from 32 career outings firmed in Melbourne Cup markets to $16 after the Caulfield Cup, currently on the fifth line of betting.

Admire Rakti remains the firm $4 favourite after connections decided to run the Japanese raider who was given a 0.5kg penalty for his Caulfield Cup run.
