Damien Oliver has been booked to ride Catkins in the 2014 Group 1 Myer Classic (1600m) at Flemington early next month.

With regular jockey, Hugh Bowman suspended until Melbourne Cup eve, trainer Chris Waller has enlisted the services of the leading Melbourne jockey who will ride the five-year-old mare for the first time.

Catkins, who finished a narrow second to stablemate Red Tracer in the 2013 Myer Classic resumed with a win in the Group 3 Sheraco Stakes before going on to place in her last two outings, running third behind Sweet idea in the Tristarc Stakes last Saturday.

Waller indicated the daughter of Dubawi is racing like she is looking for the mile and will appreciate the step up in trip in the Myer.

Neena Rock who took out the Group 3 Angst Stakes at Randwick has also been confirmed for the Myer, with Tye Angland to ride.
