2015 Caulfield Stakes: Kermadec Early Favourite

George Main Stakes winner Kermadec has opened the early favourite for Saturday’s Group 1 Ladbrokes Caulfield Stakes (2000m).

Kermadec has drawn the outside stall in a field of eight and Glen Boss reunites with the Chris-Waller trained stallion after missing his last win due to suspension.

The Caulfield Stakes has drawn together a class field with seven of the eight runners being Group 1 winners.

Craig Williams replaces the suspended Damien Oliver on Fawkner and the grey drew gate four.

Criterion makes his Australian return with Michael Walker in the saddle and jumps from gate seven.

Kerrin McEvoy goes on to Pornichet (gate three) for Gai Waterhouse, replacing Blake Shinn who has picked up the ride on Contributer (gate one) from the suspended James McDonald.

Happy Trails (Mark Zahra) drew barrier six, Mongolian Khan (Opie Bosson) has gate two and Entirely Platinum (Dwayne Dunn) drew stall number five.

The TAB has opened Kermadec at $2.70 ahead of Contributer at $4.80.

Fawkner is a $5 chance with Pornichet at $5.50 and Mongolian Khan at $9.

Happy Trails opened at $11 with Criterion at $12 and Entirely Platinum the $31 outsider.
