China Horse Club Buys Into Dissident

The China Horse Club has purchased a stake in Peter Moody’s dual Group One winner Dissident.

Dissident is to race through to the end of the current season before he begins stud duty at Newgate Farm next spring.

“The China Horse Club is probably the most important emerging operation in our industry and we feel privileged to be able to partner with them,” said Newgate Farm’s Bruce Slade.

Dissident, by Sebring, will ace in the colours of the China Horse Club when he resumes racing next month.

The four-year-old is scheduled to appear in jump outs at Sandown on Tuesday morning along with a number of other leading autumn carnival contenders.

The jump out will tell Moody if Dissident requires a lead-up race before the G1 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.

Brilliant youngster Fontiton, currently favourite for next month’s Blue Diamond Stakes, will be among 16 two-year-olds who will take part in the jump outs on the Sandown Lakeside track on Tuesday morning.

The jump-outs will be followed by a set of four official two-year-old trials.
