Mike Moroney’s French import Manduro’s Son has passed away after succumbing to a bout of colic.
Manduro’s Son broke down during Tuesday morning trackwork at Werribee as he was being prepared for an Australian debut in the Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes (2400m).
The classy French import underwent surgery on the fracture Thursday evening.
Sadly, complications arose out of the operation which resulted in the four-year-old developing colic and was then euthanised.
Manduro’s Son arrived in Australia after 13 starts in France which yielded three wins and four minor placings.
