Top jockey Kerrin McEvoy will stay aboard Rubick in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington on Derby Day.
McEvoy had a hard decision to make with star filly Earthquake heading to the same race.
McEvoy has ridden Earthquake in her last five starts, winning aboard the filly at Caulfield last time, but has decided to stick with Rubick after the pair took out the Group 2 Schillaci Stakes in impressive fashion on the same day last time.
In-form jockey James McDonald will pick up the ride on Earthquake who heads straight to the Coolmore, putting to rest speculation that she would take her chance against the top older sprinters in the Manikato on Friday night at the Valley.
Eloping is another that will line up in the Coolmore, with trainer Peter Morgan now heading that way after his filly took out the Blue Sapphire at Caulfield on Wednesday.
Rubick over Earthquake wasn't the only decision McEvoy has had to make heading towards Flemington.
He will stay aboard Lucia Valentina as she head towards the Melbourne Cup after her brave third in the Caulfield Cup on Saturday.
McEvoy had been linked with the Melbourne Cup ride on Mutual Regard for good friend Johnny Murtagh but will stick with Kris Lees' star filly
