Craig Williams has been booked to partner Scissor Kick in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington.

The leading rider has been confirmed to partner Scissor Kick who has been unlucky in his past two outings when second in both the Golden Rose and Stan Fox Stakes.

Trainer Paul Messara is of the opinion Scissor Kick will appreciate the Flemington Straight Six.

“I feel the straight six will be perfect for him,” Messara told Sky Sports Radio.

“He is pretty much a foolproof horse. He catches onto things pretty quickly and is an easy horse to train. One of the horse’s main attributes is he has a massive action. He has got a huge, big action and gets into a lovely rhythm.

“Being a straight race, I believe he will be able to utilise that rather than going around a bend where you can’t stretch out as cleanly as you can in the straight.”
