Winning Trainer: Gavin Bedggood
On the ride: "11 out of 10. He got it to a T. There was no plan that she had to lead, I thought Grandslam would probably lead but the key to her is cheap mid-race sections then you've got to get building into the race nice and early because if you wait for the rest of the field to get going she gets left tied to the fence and that takes her asset away, so she needs to build into a race and he got it absolutely perfect."
On Lachie King: "I don't know why he doesn't get more rides. He was Melbourne's leading apprentice last year and since he's come out of his time, I took a punt putting him on. He's had two rides on her for a narrow defeat here and a win on her and both times he rode her he got it perfect so I was happy to give him another ride today."
Mare back in form: "I felt like I've defended this mare for her last couple of runs because she's obviously run below par but she's had legitimate excuses, she had mucus detected on her scope two back, she burst her barrier open before the jump last start and missed the start by 3 lengths and ended up last in a slowly run race which gave her no hope.
"Daniel Schmidt who rides her gallops, galloped her Tuesday morning and said 'you can't have her going any better. If she doesn't do something Saturday we've got to reassess things and look at her future.'
"We knew she was ready to go today and if she didn't run accordingly, she was probably looking for the breeding barn."
Winning Jockey: Lachlan King
How the race unfolded: "It was unexpected. I was looking for Grandslam, the first thing I did when I jumped out but I couldn't see that. Anyway, we said if we controlled the tempo it'd be better for us. I went to plan B, controlled it."
Confidence: "He's a pretty good judge Gavin, he spoke to me last night and said he couldn't get the horse any better so I had a bit of confidence coming into today."
