Message: NswTab Fixed Odds has put Taikun up at $5 to win the Salinger on Saturday, he is an absolute moral and IMHO should be a genuine $3.50 shot. Get as much as you can on people!!
And always remember the saying "the more you bet the more you win"!!!!
Message: No morals in straight racing, the proof of that was on Turnball stakes day. When Falkirk was a moral in the Gilgai, the only problem was he was drawn on the wrong side of the track. He beat everything down the inside by 5 or 6 lengths; only to be beaten due to the fact the outside fence was the place to be. Taikun has drawn the outside fence, so if that is the place to be, he certainly is the one to beat. IMO you have to back horses on both sides of the track, or don't bet at all in the race. I don't think race 2 will give you a guide on which side is faster, as there are only 10 runners.
Message: the straight races are always dangerous. especially for a horse thats never been down the straight. saying that he was a moral beaten last start and i like him to win. Also plastered a really good bet in the derby.
Message: And also remember, the more you put on the more you lose! I backed Taikun at Caulfield and yes it was a moral beaten. But I lost. The Flem. straight six specialists will usually be thereabouts as far as the final placings go. Taikun has not run the Flem straight and anything can happen down this hallowed stretch. So nothing is for certain. Taikun could get caught up again as it did at Caulfield. I'm more bouyant about Takeover Target. Wouldn't it be a fairytale to go from Maiden to Group 1 without getting beaten in the same calander year as 4/5 year old? Almost unheard of and real unknown and exhilirating quantity. Mouthwateringly exciting!
TAB fixed odds are not in the habit of giving money away, not to me anyway.
If you follow the results of races they cover, IMHO their initial markets on races offer little value for the first two sometimes three runners.
I think Savabeel was $2.10 (approximately) and now he is $2.50.
MD was as short as $3.50 for the MC recently on TAB fixed odds. I can't see how she will be that short on the "giddy goat" come race day.
Finally, the Salinger is such an open race, you are sure to get competitive prices on raceday. The straight six at Flemington is close to a lottery sometimes. I am not saying its not great to watch, just difficult to jag the winner. Thats why such a good horse is 4-1.
Having said all that, hope it wins for you so, without any more ado, unload on it.
Regards
Timesman
P.S. I am waiting for Lady Emma to fly down the straight. I reckon she will break 1.09 for the six furlongs.

Message: gazza, lilando ran them off the park and led from start to finish it was quite an excellent gallop in deed..
but for the salinger, ive put a double for recurring and vouvray for the mckinnon although i like the looks of elegant fashion they r my fav 2 mares at the moment along with makybe diva but would never take those odds for a melbourne cup when shes carrying that much weight...
Message: The Salinger is shaping up as the best sprint we have seen for a while. Taikun does have his claims, but to me honest when i saw Lilando win on Caulfield Cup day i said it to my mates that we may seen the next Sprinting superstar of the turf. I still beleive that now and i think he will have no problems running these horses of their feet. I may be wrong but i think Lilando is an absolute speed Machine.
Message: Take over target did beat them but he was trying a lot arder because he had a lot of fat to burn off. and he was racing on the wrong leg. Great to see takeover target win even better now that he is assured of a start!
