Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, although I have been reading the posts with interest for the last year or so. Must say I do get a good laugh at the banter that goes on.

I'm just about to get an XBox and was wondering if anyone knows of any good horse racing games for the XBox? I can't seem to find any....I know that G1 Jockey is supposed to be the best but its only available on PS2 as far as I am aware.

Thanks everyone
Bluboy

There isn't one, and I've heard on a games forum (or was it here?) that there won't be one.

Had the same issue....I bought a PS2 for that reason only...Already had an X-Box. I haven't played G1 Jockey but there is a great game called 'Gallop Racer' by 'attheraces'....Personally I suggest to get a PS2. Rarely play my X-Box, the games are the same anyway.

Gallop Racer is worth getting - you buy your horses, race them from OPEN, GIII, GII to GI races, International tracks and Jockeys, International Group I's such as the Japan Cup, you can pick your racing colours, you can breed and name your champion, and even train them....and realistic racing where you have to jump well, position, rate the horse based on it's preference in running (with front-runners, on-pacers, midfielders, and swoopers), and use the whip in the straight (depending on horse if you whip too much it hinders it).

I even had a horse take off on me once, and stretch the field only to tail off in the straight. So in that sense the feel of the horse is really realistic...

Worth playing. The closest thing to being a jockey without becoming one that I have played.

i think that there was sumthin' called Jockeys Road for xbox in the pipeline a couple years ago, but i don't think that anything eventuated.
I agree with metaldemons, i have i PS2 and both G1 Jockey (becomes too repetitive) and Gallop Racer. Gallop Racer is probably the best horse racing game out. It's the closest thing you'll find at the moment to actually being a jockey on a games console.

oh, and metaldemons, there is no better feeling than being on a midfielder or swooper and rounding up the field in a heartbeat and blasting away for a 5 length win. Its awesome!!

hope it helps...
