For entirely selfish reasons I've been keeping an eye on the Slipper-Doncaster doubles.

At 2pm today Fashions Afield-Desert War was 38-1. Five hours later it was 17-1.

17-1 is the same price as Snitzel-Desert War.

Very intriguing tumbler on Barrier Draw Eve - especially given there have been no other changes in any of the pre-post markets.

Of course it could all go to paste after the draw tomorrow.

Love ya work Gai....you go girl

Before you get too exited....if you're talking about TAB fixed odds remember they have hearts the size of a small walnut(with shell already removed), so it only takes one bet in the $100 - $200 range to make them panic and drag the odd way in.

Saint,
you're right about TAB fixed odds, absoluttely gutless however I would say, more in the $50 range to have anything shorten rather than the $100 to $200 range!

A heart the size of a walnut - more like a peanut.

What I can't figure out with QLD's fixed odds betting is why after acceptances the Newmarket / Australian Cup double was "all-in", yet the 2 individual races were classed as "final field".

Dooly Boy...doubles are always "all in". If either horse is scratched you do your money cold. With win & place it's "all in" till final acceptances. After that if your horse is scratched you get a full refund.

I will hardly sing the praises of the prices offered on fixed odds by the TAB but....

I had $100 at 120-1 and the price didn't move until after Fashions Afield and Desert War raced the next Saturday.

For the price to go from $39 to $28 to $23 to $18, it would have to be a little more than that.

I think they have slighter bigger nuts than you are suggesting....just slightly
