Message: How many times do punters, form "experts" need to be told?
Since a few days after the Flemington Newmarket I have told you my opinion of the quality of the runners and subsequent form from that race. For Foreplay to be continually hammered by punters and tipsters for todays Goodwood Hcp borders on punting lunacy, the like of which we have never probably seen in this country before.
Foreplay was the years most obvious lay.
From reading my posts of the last 2mths you would have known that though.

Message: I am raving about the fact that the Newmarket has not been the form race that most claim nearly each week since its running. This fact I pointed out within a few days of its running and thus has produced many good lays, including of course Alinghi and FRock in that great result at Randwick. It was the worst Newmarket field assembled and probably the worst Gr 1 sprint this season. Thats the rave.

Message: Well dur, khaptingly. You think this is a revelation? Everyone in Australia knows that the Newmarket was a thin race, outside the two stars. Why do you think they started at $2 and $3.25, Einstein?
Because there was not much opposition, besides each other, does not make the performances of the top two weak. Was Rakti's performance last night weak?
There wasn't a horse in the country that could have beaten Alinghi and Fastnet Rock in the Newmarket.

Message: Khaptingly you are quite a silly person. Alinghi won the Newmarket. Glamour Puss ran second to Alinghi in Adelaide then won in Sydney and followed up with a resounding win in the Goodwood Hcp. Alinghi won the Newmarket well because she is a very good horse. She beat Fastnet Rock and he is a very good horse. Glamour Puss' connections steered clear of the Newnarket for good reasons and have since picked up a Group 3 and a Group 1. I believe that the Alinghi form is very good, Newmarket included. I also believe that you are twat of the highest order.

Message: Here, here Evil Roy - once Ellicorsam was scratched, Glamour Puss was great value BECAUSE of the form around Alinghi - Ah, Khrapper, you've proven yourself an ignoramus yet again!!

Message: The fact is that Foreplay has been praised for his 3rd in the Newmarket. Since started twice as fav. Thats the key. Recognize bad form races early and take advantage.
Say what you may it has worked for me. Especially when I worked around Alinghi and Frock on Easter Saturday. I dont know about the quality of these 2 anyway. They have won some good races and I have always said Alinghi was a good horse and would win group races.
Also I have said she is overated and the claim that she was her trainers greatest was enough to say she was overated, if nothing else.
I sure dont think FRock is as good as many think either. Remember his spring failures and falling in to beat Segments at Caulfield. He has really only proven himself down the straight, take a look at his other form.
These 2 stood out in the Newmarket, before and after, but that is no claim to fame. And yes tipsters have been referring to the Newmarket for horses like DT Tom, G Bayton, Foreplay and others since March, so I have too, but from a different point of view.
