Hello all those who are still in.

Please post your lays on this Thread. Good luck with your lays.

This week you must nominate five lays (must be different races) from either syd, melb, bris or adel.

Thanks to everyone that is participating for supporting the competition.

Cheers

North.

Northbouy,
It's your comp, I would have thought this was a good point to bring in the rule, all lays must be under 10/1 as at starting time as set out in Sunday morning's whatever paper.
Regards
FJ

Fatjack

With all due respect, not everyone reads newspapers.

I drive to and from work and have other things to do at other times.

Unless a meteor is about to hit and strike out planet Earth, then I really don't need to know about the trivial things that happen.

I would be very happy to lay anything under 3-1 according to the Sundays papers. Wouldnt be too hard considering I would already know the results!!!!

The rules are there for everyone Fatjack. I did a mathematical equation to show the impossibility of selecting 55 lays under $5 a couple of weeks ago. This comp with the elimination rule is as much about sussing out who the smart punters are, and which punters have concepts of mathematical probabilities.

As can be seen only 6 remain......

This is a great comp. A really good concept North.

I like the idea of a contestant being immediately eliminated if one of their lays wins. It gives the comp a real edge.

If you are looking to change the rules to encourage people to lay shorter priced horses next time around why not have a cut off point in accumulated points after say 5 weeks in?

If a contestant constantly lays longshots then they won't accrue enough points to stay in the comp after the first 5 weeks is up.

I will be joining the next one for sure and maybe I will get through to week 2 next time....Regards from Jig.

A fantastic competition. Now when are you all going to drop out so we can start again. The decision to lay Wild Queen still haunts me to this day.

Thanks guys for your feedback. I think the easiest way of doing this is that if one of your lays wins you get minus points. If you end up with a balance of less than 0 then you are eliminated, stay positive and you remain in the comp. Very similar to the 'insurance points' idea I came up with and easier to manage it this way.

Like I said this comp will run its course, and then when comp 2 kicks off everyone who wasn't in comp 1 are welcome to join in.

Cheers

North.
