Fine & Dandy and Time & Tide - Star Kingdom x Shading

Both won Doncaster - Fine & Dandy twice I think?

Time & Tide more a sprinter but just lasted over the mile - will never forget the photo (in Turf Monthly,I think) of Des Lake coming back to scale on Time & Tide - ears down, head down - most "stuffed" looking horse I've ever seen after a race - poor bugger!!

Gutsy horse

Rue Nought and Swift and Sure - from memory
Todman x Chicola - both above average - S&S won equivalent of Group races - good horse.

Probably other but those off the cuff.

As for half brothers/sisters - those out of Dark Jewel (what a jewel!!) - Baguette, Cabachon, Heirloom, Betelgeuse etc - all group horses.

I think Prunda and Basalt were brothers? (Todman?)

heirloom and baguette, ming and star dynasty, kingston town and private thoughts,
canny lad and lass, straight draw and general command, danewin and commands, sky high and skyline, redoutes choice and platinum scissors.
a few examples but usually one is great and the other is not so great....it gives the dawn
fraser and her brother joke a bit of credibility...not many succeed.

Have to mention Canny Lad and Canny Lass (Bletchingly / Jesmond Lass) - both trained by Rick Hore-Lacy.

Canny Lass was a tough mare - Won the Dubai Racing Club Cup (or Show Day Cup or whatever it was called then), the Toorak and the William Reid. Was asked to do a lot during her career - ran 2nd in an Australasian Oaks, then four weeks later was beaten a neck in a Newmarket. Also was placed in an AJC Oaks, a SA Oaks, A Manikato, and a Lightning. Retired in the spring of her 5yo year after 51 starts. Gee just looking at her 3yo Autumn record....ran in William Reid, Australasian Oaks, Futurity, Newmarket, Alister Clark, Ansett Stks, AJC Oaks (then Frank Packer 3 days later!), WA Oaks, SA Oaks .....then comes out in the Spring and does the Regal Roller/Barely A Moment double!

Canny Lad - won Golden Slipper, VRC Sires, 2nd in Blue Diamond, won Bill Stutt, then ran a courageous 3rd in Better Loosen Up's Cox Plate after dragging the field up to Stylish Century.

The creme de la creme for me would be Octagonal and Mouawad.
But along with their half-brothers and sisters, it left some dynasty.

oldtimer, you are nearly correct - Basalt was Prunda's half - by Star Kingdom not Pan II.

Regarding me & my younger bro Noholme, he was not as good as me but we were both better than our other younger brothers - Walton, Shifnal & Farringdon, who were all handy sprinters.

Shifnal gave me quite a few stakes winning nephews & nieces but I am rather proud of Noholme, who proved quite a hit with those yankee fillies to become the most successful stallion ever from Australia.

Minor brain explosion.

Just as I pushed the button I remembered that Trichelle was also a full sister to Gurners Lane & Sovereign Red.

Thus, 3 full siblings, all Group 1 winners.

There you go, beat that!

The Harrison/Williams clan had a little dynasty of horses like Private Talk, Quiet Snort and others who were brothers or half brothers around the mid 70,s.Particular success in the Invitation/Malboro cup/Dubai RC (it has had 10 name changes since).
Memories not too good today because the noise of the Grand Prix is buzzing away in the background.
