hi to everyone .. just wanting to get some experienced punter's veiws on something i have been recently thinking about..

I have been thinking of starting up a bit off a all bet running say over a period of a month...
now if i start with $100 and aim at backing short price fav's for the place only.. if i could snag 10 bets in a row at $1.30 my 100 would have turned into about $1378 bucks... now to me this does not sound all that hardsurely..with a lot of self control and some very good judgement..it seems like a nice way of trying to make a quid..

and yes i realize once you got to the 8th 9th 10th betyou would be starting to feel the pressure..but after all u only started with $100...i think i would be happy to take my winnings and start again after 10 bets for 10 wins.. if by chance you decided to get greedy and go for 15 winners in a row the result would be $5118... great return for pulling off 15 short price winners in a row..

maybe it does not have to be limited to racing.. tennis footy cricket and other sports could be bet on also... the goal is to get winners of 1.30 minimun..

like to hear your thoughts
regards the diva

How many odds on favourites have finished out of a place dividend this year?

Diva

The words "suicide mission" spring to mind

No I don't know as I am not an expert punter...what do I know?.....but frankly, any betting plan which involves consistently backing short priced favourites (and especially the part about where you decide, with great restraint and a cool calm mind, which short priced favourites to actually back) would seem to be tricky.

But why not give it a go. Maybe it works!

Give the plan a couple of trial runs before you put money on. You may feel the need for some modifications.

Don't back for the place what ever you do.

If you want to have a go with this system go for the win.

Make sure you are not betting on the TAB you need good odds to make this worthwhile.

PS I would never do this.

Diva,

Turning $100 into $1300 means you have multiplied your money by 13.

100 divided by 13 roughly represents the chances of achieving it - viz; 7.5% (its actually less than that).

So, what seems to be easy, is in reality quite difficult. Does a 7.5% chance get you excited?

If you try to turn it into $5,000 your chances become 2%.

There is no crazier betting system than allup.

Cheers,
Gary

IF YOU BACKED the great Feds in Tennis, Australia under pontings captaincy you would be a happy man.
Gee I wish Tulloch was still racing 53 times ran a place from 54 starts.

It does not matter how you make a dollar it all adds up.

I have done it before, but only for WIN bets, not Place bets. It's really difficult and risky to stretch the winning streaks to 10 or more winning bets. During the Australia Day weekend, I managed to get ElSegundo, Ceconni, HaradaSun, PrinceArthur and Marasco in a span of 3 days. After that winning sequence, I would be a very brave man to risk it all again, so I got out while I was ahead.

That week's exercise was not too difficult because the winning horse in each race was competing against inferior opponents, so I would not dream of doing it in a CF Orr Stakes this weekend for example. You'll lose for sure along the way!!!!

Why not start with $2 or $10?

Then you can see if its possible to win without risking your hard-earned.

If it works then step it up gradually, using your winnings.

If you lose, just start again with $10 (or $2).

good luck

thank you all so far for your imput.. some interesting feedback has come in.. various people are saying doing it for the win... i think they be missing the point a little..going for the win increases my chances of losing even more..going for the place i have 3 chances in every bet to get the collect.. i have based this on being happy at a return dividend of $1.30 each time.. now i would be looking at races with 8 to 12 runners only ..no big feilds with heaps of runners...i would pull out at 10 winners and take my approx $1378 for a profit of approx $1278.. i know i am not going to pull this feet of everytime..but i only need to snare it 1 in every 13 times and i will be even.. i think its quite possible.. the bets want all be made in 1 day it will run over the span of a month.. so maybe some days i want have a bt maybe on a particular day there may b 2 or 3 bets..if and when i get to the 8th 9th and 10th bets i would be having them at most likely mid week metro or sat meetings where the place pool is bigger... no good having $500 place on something at a week meeting with no pools...
anyway for those interested i will keep you informed of my progress..

have agreat day the diva

Considering you would have to re-invest your winnings you would have to round down your 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th and 9th bets to the nearest 50 cents. (if you round up you spend more than your $100)
By my calculations the return for your $100 would be $1056.90 Plus the $1.30 you put in your pocket from rounding down.

Hope someone finds that interesting

Cheers
