Message: Welcome to the 2008 Spring Super stable competition. For those that have not played before the concept is fairly straight-forward, you have $1 million starting bank with which to purchase a stable of seven horses to represent you throughout the spring. (Price list is at the end of this post). As each horse earns prizemoney that money is added to your bank and the largest bank at the end of the spring wins.
For those who have played before read the rules again as I have made a major change for this years comp.
For everyone the competition, like all others on R&S is free and fun to play. For those looking to spice things up you may choose to enter the prized competition. After you enter check you inbox for details on how to play this part of the comp but it will not actually cost you anything to enter and we should be able to build up a worthwhile prize pool which already stands at $250. This part of the comp also donates funds to children’s charities and last year raised $300 for the Children’s Hospital in Sydney.
The competition begins on Saturday the 2nd of August and ends Saturday 15th of November. Results will be published every Monday as well as after the middle day of the Caulfield Cup carnival, after Melbourne Cup day and after Oaks Day. This constitutes 19 rounds for the competition.
Selecting a stable.<\U> You must keep seven horses in your stable or which a minimum of two and maximum of four of those horses should be three year olds. There must also be at least on filly or mare in your stable. You must not overspend your $1 million salary cap. The price list is below and any horse not listed can be bought for $50 000. Stables should be posted on this thread in this format beginning with your user name. So I can copy and paste quickly, please do not add any other information. This is may stable by the way.

Substitutions<\U> In the past I have had two substitution rounds. These have been abolished. You can make a substitution at any time in the competition by posting on the results thread but you can only make seven substitutions for the entire competition. Prices of horses will rise at the end of each round. A horse’s price will rise if it places at G2 or higher and with each round the minimum price of any horse rises by $2000. Substitutions will close at 11:59pm each Thursday except when a midweek round takes place, in which case subs will close a clear 24 hours before the major race day. For horses racing midweek obviously you substitution will need to be time stamped 24 hours before the horse races. You are not refunded the purchase price of any horse that you substitute out of your stable and you will need to have the funds from your unspent balance or prizemoney earned in order to purchase the replacement.
You may make changes to your stable up until the closing time for entries however I would ask that you re-submit your whole stable in the format above should you decide to do this. Questions can be placed on this thread and I will attempt to answer then ASAP.
