Nothing against todays anthem singer at Rosehill, he did a good job.

Why do we need an anthem before the Ranvet?

And why the hell are we subjected to our horrrrrible national anthem anytime, anything with 2 or 4 legs is about to perform.

Fair dinkum, eh, give the bloooody thing a rest, we don't need to hear it.

In fact we don't need to hear it ever again.

We don't need to hear you again either, but you keep whacking away.

I think the two are rather similar.

Khrapper,

If you don't have any musical nous then it's best to optimise your talent by restricting your contribution to post-event tipping.

Advance Australia Fair is a decent anthem. It has simplicity and strength.

I post a good post and what do I get?

The 3 most UNintelligent posters on the forum.

Pink, WCF pensenior and Boof.

I should have known better.

Forget the anthem, it is hallelujah!!

Guys do not worry about me, think about the good of the country. It is not about me!

I wasn't sticking up for the anthem. I actually agree with you.

All I was saying is we don't need to hear you either yet we do.

Yes very good Khrapper. And you would be one of the posters on here respected for their intelligence? As P. Keating would probably describe you, not to beat his drum, - you are 'a low altitude flyer' when it comes to the old grey matter.

It was an excellent rendition of the anthem and added to the atmosphere and excitement in the lead up to the race.

If you didn't like that Khap you had best avoid any coverage of the golden slipper, I've head that Rob 'Millsy' Mills is performing the anthem on the big day, and I think we can all agree that he can't hit a note.

I like it when the anthem is used for award ceremony.

Gold Medal, winning an F1 race.

Before a big game of footy.

Most of the time the person singing it is some yankee or washed up Aussie pop star.

Khrapper,

You still don't understand the purpose of the anthem nor the fact that it is musically a pretty sturdy work in context. Time to get your ears and brain regrouted.

Ok Pink I realise you and WCF and boof are rather intelligent beings, otherwise you would not continually read my posts.

I also realise the Anthem is not a bad piece of work.

But, there is no need to hear it everytime we have an important sports event, let alone everytime there is a Group 1 race. What is the national significance of Ranvet day.

We should hear at one race meeting a year. The first Tuesday in November.

And one footy match a year. The Grand Final in each code.

Then I would need to block my ears only a few times a year.

Khap,

If you don't like it then don't listen and don't stand up. I challenge you not to stand. Nobody forces you to do either.

It was a lovely performance. The gentleman has a great voice.

Gee I love our anthem.

Regards

The STC play the national anthem at every meeting and have a 'guest' singer at major meetings and usually the crowd enjoy it and sing along.
It is called being patriotic.
So why don't all the grinches go find something else to bag about racing, you seem pretty good at that, and that's about all.

The anthem should only be sung/played on special occasions and for special events.
Not a non important horse race.
One Group 1, why not all of them!
(wish I hadn't typed that)

It has got totally out of hand.

I have half been expecting to hear the anthem played, when they open an extra check-out at the local supermarket!!!

Only a matter of time.

"And one footy match a year. The Grand Final in each code."

That would make 4 Footy matches khap.

AFL, League, Union and Soccer.

Well done again.
