Message: Well we fell at the last hurdle last week but there is no harm in trying.
This week we begin with the good thing of the day, Perfectly Ready in the Concept Stakes. His second to Spark of Life in the Manikato is the best form-line here. Has the coveted rails draw for Mr King with the rail out 8 and should be primed at his 3rd-run in. If he wins as I think he will, should be a big firmer for the Caulfield Guineas. With a good bank we can attack the rest of the day.
The Spring Champion Stakes is taylor-made for Dream Ballad. In my opinion he is the one on the big up. The way he finished off in the Dulcify was most impressive and although he meets Hotel Grand 3.5kg worse off for a narrow victory, his closing sectionals suggest the step up to 2000m and natural improvement are enough for him to get the prize again. He's listed around the 4-1 quote but there are a few dangers, none bigger than Pendragon. For this reason I'm staking Dream Ballad the place with the total proceeds gained on PR.
Confectioner is a class act and is ready to win the Turnbull. Provided we have collected on PR and DB we will put 1/4 of our funds on Confectioner the win and the other 3/4 on Confectioner the place. He should have little trouble crossing from the 16 ally with the long-run to the first turn and is ready to fire at his 3rd run back. Can't see him missing the placings so we'll go 1X3.
Our final bet comes courtesy of Fashions Afield in the Flight Stakes. She is a class act this filly and ready to break-through. She was beaten fair-and-square by Mnemosyne last start but her work on the training track since has been nothing short of exceptional. I expect Gai to have her peaking on the day and there is little chance she won't run in the first 3. She looks a safe place bet for the final leg.
Message: good luck d/f think she put in wild iris somewhere though she is a bird for the place with blinkers on and the boss man on, she will run great tomorow as is overs for the cc in two weeks, once again best of luck
