Well after Saturday's effort of securing his second double in town I am prepared to say that the kid can definitely ride a bit. He will be very handy with his 3kg's especially once all the big guns, including his dad, head down to Melbourne after the Epsom weekend.

My question, though, is that given Hawkes has nominated 3 for the San Domenico this coming Saturday (Shaft, Cajou and Forensics) what chance is there that he will give Mitch a ride in a Group race without his claim.

Slim,

He's awful, must have photos of Hawkes. I dunno, love child perhaps. Shocking jockey. I'm sure most people on this forum would agree with me on this one, just watch him. By the way in your opinion is there a poor jockey riding anywhere ?? Just curious.

The Mighty Quinn,
I have asked you this before but cannot remember your answer.
If your namesake is such a bad rider like you claim he is, then why does an astute trainer like John Hawkes keep putting him on.
Who has the best judgement, you or Hawkes?
A reasonable question I think under the circumstances.

Mitch is getting better with every ride and his confidence is growing as well but i still think he is 2 to 3yrs off becoming a very good jockey.

It will be interesting to see how long the Old Man keeps going... He has put on a bit of weight lately...Nobody likes a Chubby Jox

If he retires I wonder for how long..

Surely a job as Manager beckons

Yes it will be interesting to see if Mitch gets on one of the bosses on Saturday as Darren will be in England.

Mitch still has a way to go but he is not getting carried away and stated that when the carnival starts he expects to be back at the provincials for a few weeks.

He seems to be handling the pressure well especially with his parents personal problems.

No chance whatsoever, even though Beadman Jnr is already better than my namesake, with or without claim.
