Message: This is the official Fantasy EPL Competition rules and registration thread for season 2009-10. There are 28 spots available for managers to contest 4 separate competitions ~ the League, Traditional Premiership, KO Cup and Manager of the Year. If there are more than 28 entrants, I will give preference to regular players but will endeavour to include all (devise a new draw if need be). All you need to do is…
- REGISTER YOUR TEAM AT WWW.PREMIERLEAGUE.COM ~ LEAGUE CODE IS 267326-66530 - REGISTER YOUR TEAM NAME ON THIS THREAD BY MIDNIGHT AUGUST 9, LEAGUE DRAW WILL BE PUBLISHED AUGUST 10.
---------------------------------------------
* TRADITIONAL PREMIERSHIP and MANAGER OF THE YEAR * The team that scores the most game points for the season will be awarded the Traditional Premiership.
The manager that accrues the most points during each month will be awarded the Manager of the Month. There will be 9 MOM’s awarded for Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar and Apr/May. There will also be 3-2-1 voting for the best performing managers each month and whoever wins the most votes by season’s end will be awarded the prestigious Manager of the Year title.
* LEAGUE PREMIERSHIP * A 27 round league fixture draw has been set up where all teams get to play every other team once. Each team will be playing for a spot in the Top 8 to contest the finals series and earn their place in the Grand Final on 9th May, 2010 (gameweek 38) when the League Premiers will be decided. The finals series is based on the AFL Finals system.
The Top 8 will be determined by ladder position. In the event of a points tie, rank will be determined by: goal differential, then goals scored, then points scored, then the team that won the regular season league match.
* KO CUP * This 5 round knock-out competition is interspersed throughout the League Premiership fixtures. The KO Cup Final will be contested on 10th April, 2010 (gameweek 34).

*** SCORING ***
In league and cup head to head battles, games are decided by goals, not game points. Game points accrued each week convert to goals in this manner... 0-30 = 0 goals 31-50 = 1 goal 51-70 = 2 goals 71-85 = 3 goals 86-100 = 4 goals 101-110 = 5 goals 111+ = 6 goals
In the event of tied cup games or finals games, a penalty shoot-out will ensue. Goals awarded as follows...
If games are still tied, there will be a replay the following gameweek, unless its a league preliminary final or grand final in which case, actual points scored will decide the winner. If still tied then the previous encounter result will decide the winner. If still tied, then who knows i'll think of something!
---------------------------------------------
*** OTHER RULES ***
During KO Cup rounds and any finals games, you are permitted to make 3 transfers without penalty. Every transfer made thereafter is subject to a 4 point penalty. Whilst multiple transfers are already penalised within the website rules, the penalty does not impact upon the gameweek points, rather the overall score.
This rule is therefore set in place to ensure teams still vying for the Traditional Premiership are not disadvantaged when teams out of contention make a thousand transfers to stack their side. The only exception to this rule occurs when teams use their one and only wildcard (unlimited transfers).
