A simple description that can be applied to numerous things over the weekend including;
AC
They remain one of, if not, the greatest live bands ever. Sure they are getting a lot older and perhaps the energy levels are not as consistent as they once were. Yes, Angus' extended solo probably is a little self indulgent. But, they still Phar King ROCK! WE SALUTE YOU!
UFC110
I hope the atmosphere came through on the telecast because Acer Arena was pumping. For those outside of Sydney you should dip your lid because I guarantee that Australia will be a permanent stop on the UFC juggernaut from now on. Superb!
TCCXI
We have assembled the hottest field ever in the history of TCC. Quality with a Capital...
Round 1 -
No steward notification was required as Eastside Steve is ridden hard out of the barriers as per normal unleashing a barrage of Occy's and a misguided KT to take the first round honours.
A very astute trumping of Starspangledbanner ensured a very healthy 22 points.

Having utilised all but 2 Occy's perhaps the lead is not big enough.
Right on his hammer is Isildur, New Name/Old Player, (Please note that you are under warning for incorrect format of entry, ensure no spaces for future entries) who produced a solid 21 points courtesy of clever Occy use with Tootsie & Deltona. Oh what could have been with Madibagold & Danleigh left in the subs.
Speaking of Rock Bands, rounding out the podium finish for Round 1 is jet who put together 19 points with a successful trumping of Danleigh and 4 more winners.
Other Highlights:
* Surprisingly no player found Electromotive or La Rocket
* Jordmike found Winter King
* Star Witness was successfully found by Northerly & Torpedo Punt (Trumped)
* Danleigh was found by Red Summit, dturner, jet (T) Blackpill (T), Nigel & Saintly
* Starspangledbanner was found by the urger & Steve (T)
* No nudey runs
NOTES
Please ensure correct formatting is adhered, importantly make sure your poster name is included with entry (Especially that F Wit who has the cow moniker), No spaces.
You should include SUBS even if all scr are through as they become Rebaters if a runner qualifies.
2 entries were past the deadline for the days racing but not against deadline in rules thread, I will allow them (both didn't score highly). Please make sure you check the weekly thread for any rule/deadline changes.
MooCow you are welcome to still join.

Message: I was led to believe by Muirs, that he was leaving the forum and I was quite welcome to take it over, which I did for 2 comps back in late 2007. Due to personal issues, I decided to abdicate and I publicly asked for volunteers to carry on. I believe I did check in with Muirs to make sure he had no yen to come back which he confirmed.
SK put his hand up, and he now has proven the best administrator yet of this comp.
I have read SK's explanation of his actions and any logical thinking person would support his actions.
I am somewhat disappointed in Muirs responses and I guess my comments will have repercussions.
Message: Do what you want because those still in contention know full well that there has never been a competition where you can go back and change someone's score from months ago because you happen to dislike them.
You seem to be forgetting that I own this comp and I've only allowed you to run it as guest host as I assumed you would be suitable. Sadly I was mistaken.
And as you know the reason for the alias was due to your petty threat to not only ban me from the comp but all Forum Open players.
Message: "You with the sad eyes don't be discouraged oh I realize it's hard to take courage in a world full of people you can lose sight of it all and the darkness inside you can make you feel so small
But I see your true colors shining through I see your true colors"
Oh dear, I've upset the muppet!
Muirs you are so predictable, let me address all of your concerns;
When you found out I was likely to win "the best field ever assembled" you have literally gone back and checked all my entries going back months!
Are you & Media twins? Certainly have an insecurity problem. I do not care who wins the comp. This week you had a scratching which indeed is the first scratching you have encountered since Round 4 thus it brought to my attention your Rule Breaking selections. I then checked to see if I had missed this previously and corrected my mistake. Nothing more sinister than administering the comp to the rules.
All to dock me two points when others have received 20 points despite posting well after your weekly deadline posted in HUGE writing.
No other misdeamenour had actually broken the rules of the comp. The weekly cutoff is not covered in the rules as you can post after the first race according to the rules as they stand. No advantage was gained by any player in these breaches, you however did gain by actually breaking a rule and have simply had that advantage corrected.
The Swiss Cheese rules are faulty like most of your competitions and due to the continual biacthin from the two biggest sooks on the forum I will re write them prior to the next edition.
It's all academic anyway as it is an accepted rule that any amendments/challenges etc must be made before the next round when "correct weight" is declared. That's like the owners of Eagle Falls going back now and trying to protest against StarSpangledBanner in the Oakleigh Plate which was probably as long ago! Or like trying to change the result of round 1 in the NRL months later because of a forward pass someone has found on video. Or a 20/20 result being over-turned months later when video shows a 6 was actually a 4. By the way I assume you've checked every single player's selections back to round 1 to see if they have made any technical breaches? And what happened to your undertaking to give one warning?
Keep dribbling. Any mistake is corrected refer Gattonera this week. I regularly audit players yes. Warning are for non advantageous breaches, when a breaking of the rule contains an advantage then no warning is required.
As you have so pompously declared over the years the administrator rulings are final.
I've received no advantage (would actually be doing much better if I knew about this rule!) unlike those who did benefit from the rules you simply made up following the Flemington washout.
You receieved the advantage of 2 points that you were not entitled under the rules. As for not knowing the rules, what a joke you wrote them!
If you really thought you were justified you wouldn't have tried to sneak it in without explanation!
Like the muppet you are, I predicted the reaction that would come and orchestrated the demonstration of your "true colours" which was way more amusing.
An initial sweet as pie query (Geez this was an amazing comp prior to your last post :> ) then " the world is against me, it;s not fair..boo hoo sook (That's Gold!)
Too funny. Almost as funny as you and Camel lecturing other people about multiple alias's!
Your correct, Too funny. My only other alias is well known as my first id here until I purchased a very slow (but beautiful) horse which then became my nick.
Whereas you have created numerous because you sooked, dishonoured agreements and simply want to deceive.
Don't try to "punish" someone for happening to be a better tipster and when you apparently forgot all about this rule for months. It's petty. It's also unfair to the others still in with a shot who I'm sure would rather win fair and square.
Rules were not forgotten at all, I missed your dual race nomination in Round 4, immediately this became apparent to me I've corrected the mistake.
Keeping it fair and square is exactly the reasoning for the decision.
Unlike yourself, my integrity remains intact.
Indeed I have known your alias for a lot longer than you think.
Now shouldn't I throw you out of the comp here? Or demand a public apology?
Not the way I play, Good luck in your quest for the sheep station.
Message: can't seem to find the link to place my TCCXI selections this early on a Friday morn, Away for the W/E and unable to get to computer from now on, so i will retire, cheers for the comp and keep up the good work.
Message: Hey Muirs, Didnt you promise never to post on the forum again after lying about how much you layed Marasco for in a Cox Plate? Remember that? Laying him for a fortune turned out to be to win a maximum of $16. Sounds like your promises are worth about as much as you made laying Marasco. rofl
Message: Lol that's the funniest/saddest thing I've ever heard.

Humblest apologies your 4 points have been added to overall tally and will be updated with next posting.
Bitplayer,
In scoring your round this week I noticed that your subs were coming from a race in which you had a valid selection and thus was not valid, whilst this did not affect this weeks tally in reviewing all previous weeks, I noticed that I incorrectly scored you 2 points for Beaded in Round 4 which was a sub but you already had Beaucoup unsuccessful in that same race as part of your initial 12 selections, thus 2 points have been deducted from your total.
Started out seeking fortune and glory Its a short song but a hell of a story When you spend lifetime trying to get your hands On the holy grail
A low scoring week guarantees at least one round if not more are still left to run in TCCXI (unfortunately).
Some midfield surges has compressed the leading pack but someone surely has to go for the doctor?
Results were slightly delayed as extensions were being completed for this weeks podium, As I’ll, um, seek ,er the amount of people resembled a South East Asian Cruise Company.
Gold = 12 Boxcar & Blackpill Boxcar managed to trump Zingaling whilst also finding Melito. Blackpill produced an Ocky for Zingaling & Shoot Out. Well done to both.
Silver = 11 dturner, Dartagnan & Catweazle share the silver spoils with solid selections. Dturner managed to KT Shoot Out (Sensational), Dart was his usual solid self with 4 winners & Cat was the same.
Bronze = 10 Yakeckhid, TODMAN, hkh & Bitplayer all bonded in bronze.
Other Highlights
* No one found Miss Chatter, Jessicabeel or Pertubo
* Renaissance was found by Devilred.
* Yosei was found by Magpie Magic and was his sub trump.
* Melito was found by Boxcar & Todman
* Xavier was found by Red Summit & hinsky
* Okay Oky was found by Reamer
* 8 KT’s were played this week only Dturner was successful with Shoot Out. Skilled, Mic Mac * 2, Zabrasive, Keep The Peace, Hot Danish & More Strawberries all unsuccessful.
* Northerly becomes the sole member of Nudey Club for this week.
Weekly Points Table
A maximum score of 48 points available this week. (not using trumps)
“There comes a time when every man must fight When he believes in justice and right He'll take so much till he'll take no more They'll hear us comin' when they hear the mighty roar
Shoulder to shoulder, we're gonna stand We're gonna fight till the very last man Can't be defeated, don't know the word Shoulder to shoulder, we'll fight the world”
Who will emerge victorious? A week of little movement with the leading pack jostling and waiting for each other to make a move, this allowed a few more to join this lead pack with the finish line approaching, who will Carpe diem quam minime credula postero!
Jet holds onto his lead but it has been narrowed with Isildur & Torpedo hunting together, Bitplayer remains on their tails. Justlikejoe & Blackpill bridge the gap to join in the back of this group. Nige, Catweazle & Bodsy (that missed week is costly). Dart still lurking but surel has left his run too late, Karnage suffered badly this week.
Of those in contention Torp still has an Occy to play, Dart has an Occy & KT, Bodsy has 2 occy & KT whilst Karnage still has 3 occy’s.
