A simple description that can be applied to numerous things over the weekend including;
AC
They remain one of, if not, the greatest live bands ever. Sure they are getting a lot older and perhaps the energy levels are not as consistent as they once were. Yes, Angus' extended solo probably is a little self indulgent. But, they still Phar King ROCK! WE SALUTE YOU!
UFC110
I hope the atmosphere came through on the telecast because Acer Arena was pumping. For those outside of Sydney you should dip your lid because I guarantee that Australia will be a permanent stop on the UFC juggernaut from now on. Superb!

Round 1 -
No steward notification was required as Eastside Steve is ridden hard out of the barriers as per normal unleashing a barrage of Occy's and a misguided KT to take the first round honours.
A very astute trumping of Starspangledbanner ensured a very healthy 22 points.

Having utilised all but 2 Occy's perhaps the lead is not big enough.
Right on his hammer is Isildur, New Name/Old Player, (Please note that you are under warning for incorrect format of entry, ensure no spaces for future entries) who produced a solid 21 points courtesy of clever Occy use with Tootsie & Deltona. Oh what could have been with Madibagold & Danleigh left in the subs.
Speaking of Rock Bands, rounding out the podium finish for Round 1 is jet who put together 19 points with a successful trumping of Danleigh and 4 more winners.
Other Highlights:
* Surprisingly no player found Electromotive or La Rocket
* Jordmike found Winter King
* Star Witness was successfully found by Northerly & Torpedo Punt (Trumped)
* Danleigh was found by Red Summit, dturner, jet (T) Blackpill (T), Nigel & Saintly
* Starspangledbanner was found by the urger & Steve (T)
* No nudey runs
NOTES
Please ensure correct formatting is adhered, importantly make sure your poster name is included with entry (Especially that F Wit who has the cow moniker), No spaces.
You should include SUBS even if all scr are through as they become Rebaters if a runner qualifies.
2 entries were past the deadline for the days racing but not against deadline in rules thread, I will allow them (both didn't score highly). Please make sure you check the weekly thread for any rule/deadline changes.
MooCow you are welcome to still join.

Message: the fact that I used up 5 OCCY's shows just how confident I was.
Although I won on the day, courtesy of "following" Lord Tavistock one more time & of course Fantastic Blue in Brizzy, what could have been a super day had some of my 9 placegetters in Syd & Melb saluted, particularly Pagan Princess & Georgia's Boy plus Callto Mind at Oakbank.
My "nude" run was so undeserved as I have been going OK on the punt in recent weeks.
An interesting weekend of racing, a couple of bubbles bursting whilst others continue to put their names in bright lights with great performances.
Attitude was costly this week, surely someone should have had a Devil May Care outlook? And how did no one trust Bart in a Group 1, a classic trainer for sure.
Yours truly thought he was sailing beautifully for the weekly honours with the spinnaker set and winners flowing but suddenly the sonar started going beserk as that Western Wonder, torpedoed any chances in impressive fashion.
Gold = 20 Torpedo Punt a phenomenal performance without using any additional trumps. 6 winners in total and left a couple unused in the subs. Superb!
Silver = 18 Spinning Knight managed to fluke a decent score by trumping all of his 3 winners.
Bronze = 14 Blackpill just gets the job done week in/ week out. More later.
Other Highlights
* Nobody found Devil May Care or Rock Classic (Master Harry found in subs)
* Lord Tavistock was found by Our Maizcay (Great Stuff!) Reamer & Runbabyrun had it in subs!
* The Mikado was found by Spinning K (T), Ender, Torp, Nigel (plenty had it in unused subs)
* De Lightning Ridge was found by Blackpill
* Be Positive was found by Bitplayer
* A total of 8 KT’s were played this week with only 2 successful both with Shoot Out, fantastic effort Lance Barnard & Karnage.
* Two Nudey Run members this week and both had a plethora of placings but welcome Todman & DevilRed
NOTES
Northerly you did not nominate any Trumps for the week but had 2 Occy’s listed, these were converted to normal weekly trumps.
Several others had Marveen as a Trump with no sub trump and as such an occy was converted to be the sub trump. Please make sure you check the overall leaderboard for how many Occy’s you have left and whether you have played your KT or not.
Please make sure no spaces in selections.
Hinsky thank you for posting well within deadline.

I think our leader might have with Joe having three cracks at submitting his tips were the nerves starting to show?
Still he did just enough to hold onto the overall lead but has now exhausted all his additional trumps, a sitting duck at the top of the table with a large number of hunters gunning for him.
Blackpill produces another very solid week to sit very comfortably in 2nd place and with plenty of ammunition left.
Jet holds down 3rd place and this leading bunch have a small gap on the pack.
Weekly winner Torpedo zooms into 4th and Nige/Magpie Magic just behind him with all with bullets to be fired, Bitplayer is proving anything but and still has his 6 shooter.
Lurking steadily behind this group is TCC legend Dartagnan, he is stalking and getting ready to make a big move!
A rebater is scored if your selection runs 2nd paying a dividend higher than $3.00 or 3rd with a dividend higher then $5.00.
In a normal week this would simply mean that your sub would come into play, if it won then you would score the points associated with that horse.
Given the unusual circumstances of this week and the lack of subs available to all players I made an executive decision for any player that did not have an available sub for a rebater they would be awarded 1 point.
Rebaters come into play every week and for this reason plus late scr I recommend all players leave a full set of subs from remaining races.
I trust this explanation is easily understood.
Cheers SK
P.S. Did you see the King again this morning? He couldn't win England a World Cup could he?
It takes considerable commitment to run these competitions for the enjoyment of others - and I know first hand that some players can make life difficult.
Like me here.
I might be getting old and senile - but explain this rebaters thingy again to me.
Slowly.
I get the bit about Eagle Falls running second.
My read of the rules says that entitles me to use one of my subs as an extra selection.
But I didn't put any subs in - never have.
So how do I earn the extra point in that case.
What am I missing.
I am happy to take the 10 points - but still think I'm entitled to only nine.
I know it usually doesn't take much - but I'm confused.
Having missed Rounds 1 and 3 due to being overseas (and performing dismally in R2), I'm going to bail. No sense in wasting your time after my series of no-shows. Look forward to Spring's comp.
Message: SK, don't be modest mate. You are doing a job that exceeds the fine jobs done by previous administrators (well one of them, anyway) and I commend you for it.
The best comp needs your skills and may I add your decisive rulings that are both fair and common sense.
I personally would have much preferred "voiding" the round. The vast majority of players do submit a full suite of substitutes which are not only incase of scr but also come into play if a rebater is required.
I duly note your constructive points and will amend the rules to include abandoned, postponed and non runners.
I thoroughly recommend completing a full set of substitutes from all remaining races on the weekly card, they do come in handy.
With respect to players "getting two bites of the cherry" I do not agree.
The rest of your comments are too kind and certainly not necessary.
But I fear you have been too generous with me this week.
You've given me 10 points - but I think it should be nine (6 for the Captain and a point each for the three odds on winners).
And I respectfully query your call on the allocation of subs to "replace" selections from the postponed final three Flemington races.
Your exhaustive rules unequivocally state that subs can only be used for scratchings or rebaters. There is no provision for the use of subs in races that are abandoned or postponed.
I understand that your resolution is perhaps the most expedient, but I suggest that it not 100% fair.
Given that three races in question have been added to the Flemington card this weekend, some players are technically getting "two bites at the cherry".
Just thought I'd make the point in case you see a need to amend the rules.
I've had a good look at the stewards patrol footage and will not be lodging an objection.
What an unbelievable week, apologies for delay in results but with all the scr, non runners (i.e races abandoned) and rebaters was a bl00dy nightmare, not to mention losing this whole results posting.Anyway enough about me....
This week highlighted the importance of including a full set of subs with your selections. We lost 3 races but still were left with 14 to engage our 12 selections.
Any rebater that did not have an active sub was scored a point.
Round 3 had just about everything, lots of low scores and some truly outstanding efforts with remarkably every winner collectively found by the group.
Let's hail this weeks podium.
Gold = 18 Boxcar a truly fantastic performance which included Shamrocker (hope you got plenty) Way to extracate yourself from near the bottom of the ladder.
Silver = 17 Northerly who said you can't handle the Sydney way of going? a superb 4 winners from 7 selections in Sydney including an astute trumping of Theseo & Dorf Command. Bravo!
Bronze = 15 justlikejoe needed a big week to chase Jet in the overall lead, JLJ showed how much he Wanted it with an extremely consistent round across both states.
Special mention to Squid who narrowly missed the podium with 14 points including a great trumping of Dissolved.
Other Highlights
* Every winner was found!
* Shamrocker was found by Boxcar & Runbabyrun
* Dorf Command was found by Dagz, Northerly & Blackpill
* Dane Julia was found by Justlikejoe & Runbabyrun
* Theseo was found by Northerly (T) & Blackpill
* Dissolved was found by Squid (T) & Isildur
* Wanted was found by Justlikejoe
* No Nudey Run members although plenty (yours truly) were close, Gattonera was extremely lucky.
NOTES
Reamer you didn't nominate any Trumps (2 per round).
Please make sure no spaces in selections.
Hinsky you are under a final warning, if you enter after a deadline (it is clearly stated) you will not be able to continue in the comp.
Weekly Points Table
A maximum score of 40 points available this week. (not using trumps)
Results Sydney Winner.. Best Tote Points 1 Strike One $2.20.. 2 2 Dorf Command $9.20.. 4 3 More Joyous $1.40.. 1 4 Solar Charged $1.70.. 1 5 Dane Julia $13.30. 4 6 Theseo.... $8.10.. 4 7 Dreamscape $4.40.. 3 8 Albertinelli $7.20.. 3
Fortunately for last weeks leader Jet he had a full suite of subs that averted a serious disaster as they scored all his points this week but the momentum was clearly lost.
New Leader, Justlikejoe seized the opportunity to edge past Jet with another weekly podium from a very consistent performer. He has used the majority of bonus trumps but his consistency will keep him in the hunt.
Backpill holds 3rd with yet another solid week and is well positioned to launch an attack.
Eastside Steve nudges a little closer with a trumping of Captain Coltish, whilst Magpie Magic is quietly accumulating good points.
Nige must have been flying Jet as he stalls.
Big movers included Boxcar, Northerly & Oliverfan.
Message: Nige, I'd never call you yellow and I never did like them Gatlin Boys. They were just loud mouthed bullies, and absolutely useless one the punt.
Message: have to put the hand up guys, had a nightmarish end to the week work wise, did no study @ all, went the obvious IMHO in each race late Saturday morning, heavily influenced by Eastsides use of OCCY's the previous week and look @ the result. I did follow up with a very nice multi Crystal Lily into Velocitea into Extra Zero into Berringama 20 times. Coupled with Spinney (dead set fell in) as my best i had a great weekend. Spent hours the previous week and floundered, go figure.
Message: Not exactly the one I was thinking of Blackpill, but amusing nonetheless.
And it isn't 'Coward of the County' either.
I remember years back that pommy mob the Heebeegeebees did a very amusing gravelly voiced p1sstake of Kenny called 'You're A B@st@rd.' It included the immortal line:
"Then a tear came to his eye..........and there was two o'them."
"You picked a fine time to leave me,Lucille With four hungry children and a crop in the field. I`ve had some bad times, lived through some sad times, this time the hurtin` won`t heal. You picked a fine time to leave me,Lucille.
"I'm leaving on a jet plane, don't know if i'll be caught again!"
With another supersonic performance jet has propelled himself to a substantial lead.
Our weekly winner justlikejoe moves into 2nd position with Bitplayer holding down 3rd.
Nigel is extremely well placed having not used any occy's or his KT, whilst I noticed our legends jockey giving Dartagnan a little dig in the ribs to take up a more forward position.
Eastside Steve overracing badly after jockey tried to restrain and he needs to settle whilst Isildur's self grandeur was not backed up by his performance although he sits handy.
