Message: I am deeply concerned of reports that So You Think may be/has been sold for a reported $50 Million to Sheikh Mohammed. Bart and Dato don't need the money so I'm shocked that this has been reported.
Another champion galloper will be taken away from us because this man has too much money and I fear that Tuesday will be the last time we see So You Think run again in Australia.
First Denman, now So You Think...gone just as quickly as he came.

Message: I would like to see him race all through next year, whether it be the Cox Plate, Arc, or Breeders Cup, but I wonder if they would do what they did with Haradasun - race (and hopefully win) at Royal Ascot and send him to stud in Australia next spring.

Message: pretty unfair to single Coolmore out as being selfish or depriving fans of seeing stallions race.....i think they have proven they are more than happy to keep stallions on the track, they kept Yeats racing didnt they?? They have also shown a fondness to race Aussie stallions in the UK with Haradasun and Starspangledbanner. With Coolmores Australian base, these top stallions also return downunder for our breeding season. I know they havent had a tendancy to race in Dubai.....but the thought of SYT in the World Cup must be tempting!

Message: It is sad but I will be keeping an eye on him in England. Aiden O'Brian will take care of him and hopefully bring the best out of him just as Bart was doing.
I hope he does well. Arc De Triomph or Breeders Cup would be good races for him.

Message: Bart had nothing to do with it. It was up to Dato and the other owners. Bart was under the impression that he was going to have an autumn campaign and run him in the Australian Cup.
Even Bart said that he was in the dark about it - he wasn't happy that SYT was sold because he wanted to target the Cox Plate again.
If people need to be annoyed at someone - be annoyed at Dato - not Bart.

Message: Soyouthink Europe/world wide targets could be interesting. I mentioned the Breeders as the logical choice (Coolmore would like to improve their record at the Breeders). But having said that maybe not, I forgot that as of next year the QE11 will be run in October on Champions day.
As mentioned in a previous post- unless Dato and Tunku have insisted on a trip to Dubai it won’t happen. Coolmore wont support the DWC carnival, and most European trainers wont take their top horses to Dubai as they believe it is to long a season for the horse.
Here is a list of possibilities (note this isn’t a suggested campaign, just possibilities). The spokes person from Coolmore has said they believe he is the best 1600-2000m horse in the world, so you have to think that will be the aim- but they might try him at 2400m.
September 1m 2f G1 Irish Champion Stakes- Leopardstown
October/Novemeber- (gets very interesting) 1m G1 QE11- Ascot (Champions Day) 1m 4f G1 Arc De Triomphe- Longchamp 1m G1 Breeders on turf- Churchill Downs 1m 4f G1 Breeders Classic on Turf- Churchill Downs 1m 2f G1 Cox Plate- Mooney Valley
I wouldn’t write of the possibility of the horse by passing Champions Day, The Arc and the Breeders for a crack at the Melbourne Spring Carnival. It could be that Dato has insisted the horse be given the chance to emulate the King- but then again maybe not- who knows.

do you think that Saeed Bin Suroor is the only trainer Godolphin use? They also use Mahmood Al Zarooni, Andre Farbe in France (one of the all time great European trainers) and have recently had horses in Ireland with leading trainers.

there is no way in the world he will be aimed at a Dubai World Cup- Ballydoyle do not take horses to Dubai- at all.
Oliver Fan I read with interest they are saying he might come back for the spring, even if they dont the logical target would be the Breeders. Im looking forward to seeing SYT take on the world.

Message: "As I suspected, Coolmore have got their greedy paws on him."
I would have thought the current owners are the greedy ones for taking the money!
But seriously, if all falls into place he will go to a great trainer with a proven record with to Australian horses, and will get the chance to prove that he is the world-class galloper most of us think he is. Would have been great to see him during the autumn, but you can't have everything.
Message: I know stallions are a biz but you would think Mr Dato and Bart would spare a thought for the racing public who have now lost the chance to see SYT in the flesh. At least give us the Australia Cup - I'll buy the plane ticket even if I have to drive 4 hours to get to the airport!

Message: JUST ANNOUNCED:
Coolmore has purchased majority share of So You Think. Dato will still keep some shares in him. Will be trained by Aidan O'Brien and to be prepared for Euopean summer 2011. Many on here get their wish to see him take on the world.
