Message: the very well related Clare Hawkes has scored the gig as Spring Carnival ambassador. I wonder if this is a paying gig? I hope not, for her sake, as it really looks like a case of jobs for the boys/girls. I bet she will do a great job though. It's unfortunate, but the cynics like me will always percieve cronyism when jobs like these are handed out.
Message: Howling wind or not,is it possible to reveal any more skin than that whilst remaining technically "dressed"? I doubt it. I've seen crotcheted bikinis that cover more! She wore it well though!
Message: 2004 being an Olympic year I think I would have preferred an Olympian, Brooke Hansen jumps to mind. Why would that be ? Or then again I wonder was Chris Judd's girl is doing during the spring ? I'd like to see that red dress outdoors at Flemington with the wind howling ?

Message: She comes from a racing background. Her mother is Linda Jones (former jockey) and her father is Alan Jones NZ trainer. She is naturally a Kiwi, moved to Brisbane about 5 years ago and met Michael Hawkes at the races.
She also breeds a few horses. Is the breeder of Flying Firebird.

Message: My mistake, only read it in passing in the Herald Sun - I was more focused on the half page picture of her. Never seen what Michael looks like, but he ain't got a great gene pool in the looks department.

Message: Cronyism!! Get a look at her!! I'm no oil painting, but Wayne Hawkes would have to giggle at himself every time he looks in the mirror. For him to get a sort like that- good bloody on him!
No cronyism here, just pure beauty, like Lil Miss Waterhouse last year.

Message: Far better selection that channel 7's Melbourne Cup Carnival ambassadors last year...the Hilton sisters. Clare knows what she's talking about and fits the bill in a marketing sense! you go girl!!!
