Message: dicksy, You are dead right mate, seems people are quick to hang a fellow before he is found guilty, I wonder how tolerant they are with their own weaknesses. Hey pilgrim, get down off your hoss!!
Message: i beleive in innocent until proven guilty but contaminated feed could be an easy way to keep someones reputation and trainer license also! Im sure the stewards cant fine the feed supplier so if you were a trainer and could pay a feed supplier some cash to make such a situation easier on one!?!?
Im not implying that has happened here but im sure more corrup things have occured in racing than that possible scenario! Not knowing lindsay smith how can anyone here judge his integrity? We can't really imo.
Message: The AAMI Vase swab was found to be clear but apparently they are retesting it. As Comrade mentioned it would seem that the swab irregularity comes from a sample taken after a Perth race and is due to a batch of contaminated feed. If the Vase sample was clear, and it was only the WA feed, then it would seem logical to assume that the Derby sample will be clear as well (unless they carted the feed over with the horse!).
However, going on the luck the connections of Savabeel have had so far, anything is possible!
Message: I thought it was the trainers responsibility to bring the horse to the races DRUG FREE. Doesn't matter where it comes from, think it's a zer tolerance policy these days. As for the Derby, they are reporting that those swabs have yet to be cleared...
Message: Be carefull not to hang Lindsy Smith before all the circumstances are revieled! I am 100% sure the trainer will be cleared, however under the rules of racing he has presented his horse for the races with a prohibited substance. The swab for the derby should be clear as the contaminated feed may not have got sent east with the horse. People should'nt judge before all the facts are presented.
