Dont want to grab Racing Carrots thunder as Im sure he is about to unleash us all onto Monaco Consul for the Derby but Maroney has just stated on radio that he is the best he has ever been, you know what happened when he last spoke like this. Hes just gone from $6 to $5 on NZ TAB.

I told you all that Monopace Consul was a slow horse.

Why do punter back these horses. I laid it.

Another huge win for me and my followers.

For that say it ran off on the turn, that was just the horse saying you should not have backed me.

Deny my advice at your peril.

Mooksta, Katie lee is a lovely filly, She seems to have been up this prep for a very long time and I feel she was at her distance limit last start, at 1400-1600m she smacks the boys, but not keen on her at 2400m at all. Im all over Monaco Consul, Corporal Jones to be the one that pushes him most.

The VRC-NZ-AJC Derby treble is the aim for Monaco Consul - I'd say it's almost certain he won't go to Queensland. The way things are going, I wouldn't be shocked if he starts favourite tomorrow.

Infidel,

It would be great if Monaco Consul collected the VRC Derby, NZ Derby, AJC Derby & QTC Derby in the one 2009/10 season.

Unlikely to happen, but we can live in hope.

Racing needs superstars.

What's the plan with MC after this race? Onwards to Sydney, then Brisbane?

Shes a star this horse - has footed it with the boys at Grp1 level over a mile. Yet to be proven at derby length but owner Sir Patrick Hogan we know is no mug-horseman. Expect her to be very close.
Punters seem to have come for Monaco Consul in NZ in a massive way - coming from 6-1 to now 4-1 in past day. Moroney has been on the radio talking very big form his horse. Either way, very good looking derby field, where are the aussie radiers this year though?

A question to the learned enzedders - seen a few of Katie Lee's races, she looks a very nice type, any chance against the boys? Don't really follow the NZ racing much at all.

The mighty Consul surely has to be the lay of the year.

Come on Khap - you just know it's right.

Greed is not good.

(I love this horse and I really hope I'm wrong - like his campaign).

Monaco will want to have found a few lengths from the Spring when this slow horse beat a bunch of slower horses in the Derby at Flemington.
