Message: I have posted on this before, but once again is definitely not too much.
WHY NOT?
The above question I have posed, refers to the "spoil the party" hijacking of threads for personal attacks, for bringing up old "he said, she said" quotes that have no relevance to the subject, or any matter not connected to the thread subject.
Why do I care? In principle, I don't and some of the banter is interesting but mostly it is repetitive and boring.
My problem is having to trawl through an interesting thread for the postings that are of interest. If you totally dismiss the serial culprits, the job is fairly simple, but most of these culprits post good stuff also.
Ideally, the MOD's should just dismiss these type of responses or even push them to a new thread with the same subject title suffixed by "replies of no interest to most". Pigs might fly.
So, WHY NOT, in the interest of improving this forum, don't the culprits take their banter to a daily thread titled something like "BULLSH!T for 21/03/2010" and as they are so proficient cutting and pasting, they could make all of their attacks and irrelevant postings" relevant to the thread that they refer to, using their super C&P skills.
The biggest problem I see is getting the offenders to admit to their sins, which will prevent them from participating in using an "IRRELEVANT POSTING" thread.
Here are some questions that if you answer yes to, defines you as an offender.
1 - On multiple threads each week, do you post responses that have no bearing to the subject?
2 - Do you regularly post a response, solely because of another forumites posting?
3 - This one covers it all actually. Are you a stalker?

I have not read a comment on here that isn't affirming of what you do and the good you wish for others.
As I've said recently I wish everyone well on here, but this bloke has no interest beyond his own person. It's standout. No hatred or evil wishes, it's a simple and obvious reading. What I do hate is acid satisfaction.
If you look through history and look at the state of the world, not everyone is good or deserving.

You know, sometimes it's okay to let bygones be bygones, live and let live and all that.... and just have a bit of a giggle in the moment... so to speak.
If there was more of that and less grudge-holding on this forum ( I'm not pointing the finger at you or anyone specifically) everyone would get along so much better.

This forum reflects the world at large, it's as simple as that, we've got smart people, dumb people, crazy people and annoying people, we've got talkers, stalkers, porkers and corkers, we've got nut-cases, hurdle-racers and thread-chasers, not to mention bull-sh*tters, trouser-fitters, fence-sitters and forum quitters. We've got snobs and slobs and big mobs of knobs, we've got a picnic trainer and a no-brainer who are one and the samer. You'll find all kinds of tools and plenty of fools, whingers and whiners who don't like the rules. There are Sunline geeks and Northerly freaks, a Mac and a Slack who are part of the pack, some are coarse and some are kind, there's a jughead impostor who can't make up his mind. A propeller head who talks with a 'ewe' and a quaddie fanatic who hasn't a clue.
You'll find t0ssers and tipsters and liars and louts, hob-knobs and hobos and down-and-outs, Lister farewelled us and everyone cheered but that only lasted till Clackers appeared, the king of the 'layers' resides on this site, he throws out the bait and watches them bite, there are those who love racing but don't like the whip and posters like Betto who won't give a tip. We've got winners and grinners with plenty of dough and losers and boozers with nowhere to go, fakers and fraudsters are part of the mix, though its obvious to all they play with their .....
Jones is the champion at tipping it seems, though he's still at the shelter and he still loves baked beans, Herman's been here for many a year, just mention the 'Munsters' and watch him appear. Doosra is back but it won't be for long, can someone please tell her they retired Grey Song, Todman's still riding the same hobby-horse, still the same race, around the same course.
But we come here to read, we come here to write, we quite often laugh and sometimes we fight, but we keep coming back coz on this point we agree, this site wouldn't function, if it wasn't for me.
The posters who get most upset at the 'serial offenders' as they put it, are the posters who know exactly what they want and want exactly the same for everyone else. The old 'Don't argue with me, I know what's best for you' attitude'. Maybe these people have some form of authority in their professional life and can't come to terms with the fact that they don't have it here. They're just one of the mob here and they don't like it, they're used to having things done their way and that's the way they want it here.
One poster in particular doesn't like to be told he's wrong, and given that he's wrong 99% of the time, it's quite clear that he won't be happy until only himself and those who don't know he's wrong are left posting here. That would see total regular posters here reduced to about three.
This site reflects the world at large and life in general, the world won't change to suit them and neither should this site, if the kitchen's too hot, then leave, simple as that.
As for a daily BULLSH!T thread? Fine, but how about it also records and displays the name of every poster who accesses it, would be plenty of surprises there, for sure.

On another occasion when addressing a group of coalminers, a heckler (no doubt from your own family tree) shouted to Menzies 'Tell us all you know Bob, it won't take long' To which Menzies quickly replied ' I'll tell you what we both know, it won't take any longer.'
