Message: Excellent program with good prizemoney and competitive fields.
$740K Guineas - fabulous prize for a bunch of horses a couple of rungs below the best but good luck to the trainers and owners. All Legal should surely be in the finish here - 3 good runs from a spell, drawn to advantage, in-form jock, winner in fast time over Rwick mile (beating no less than Turf Express and Zabrasive). Each way looks very juicy. $110K Dark Jewel - Snowden stable to fore, but which one? Probably Renaissance, but she may well get in to stupid odds again. $120K Scone Cup - a lottery, but Keffiya doesn't have to improve much to be in the finish again.

Message: I have just returned from 2 great days at Scone. It was great to see Star of Octagonal win the Guineas and the Lee brothers win the cup with Keeping the Dream. Unfortunately I didn't have too much luck on the punt but it was a great day, great atmosphere and great racing.
It was announced that next year it will be a 2 day meeting (Friday and Saturday)so this meeting will only get bigger.
Also found time to visit Darley Stud and Arrowfield Stud - the stallions all looked good but Canny Lad stood out - for a horse rising 23 he seemed as frisky as the younger stallions. The stallion groom says he is 23 going on 4 in the breeding barn.
If you have never been to a Scone Cup meeting I would highly recomend it.

Message: I thought that Martin Place was the go in the Scone Cup but it missed a run as was 2nd emergency.
It's stablemate, Prior Baron, was 1st emergency, probably because different owners, but I thought they may have scratched it to give Martin Place the run. Martin Place will win tomorrow at Randwick.
Prior Baron hwas been running big races at shorter distances and last start he romped in over 1600m. I am warming to him in this race as there are a lot of better performed horses in it that are out of form and he looks a great each way chance.
