Message: Jeez....what a horror weekend for the Scott brothers. They've coached so well all year but now both their teams come out looking like stunned rabbits in the finals. Seemingly completely mentally unprepared.
Is it just me or did three quarters of the Kangaroos look like they didn't even want to be there from the first bounce? Like they all had the flu or something.
At least the Cats regained some semblance of a game plan and fought it out. North just look like a rabble.

Message: The first quarter was so un-Geelong like I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Don't recall ever witnessing class players like Bartel, Chapman etc fumbling, kicking out of bounds, generally looking thoroughly rattled. Must have been so frustrating for Cats fans.
Credit to Freo though they played extremely well and maintained it for four quarters. Pav was brilliant.

Message: "If Hawkins stopped when he heard the siren, would there have been any umpire in the land with enough balls to call play on, thus ending the game?"
You didnt ask a question about the rule at all, you asked whether there would be an umpire with "enough balls" to call play on.
You've suggested that it should be play on and it has been clearly pointed out to you that its not.

Message: The 20 second rule was brought in to stop time wasting.
If the clock has run down and the siren has gone, then the player kicking for goal doesnt have any time left to waste. He can take as long as he likes.
