That was the game of the year.

Tremendous fight back by the Hawks and they had the game in their keeping.

What a supreme individual effort by Hawkins. He is a big game player.

The Cats aren't done with yet.

The Hawks are red hot too.

How's that song go?

That's what Iike about football.....

No more cats.

Tufnel is taking it so bad he hasn't dropped in since the game.

Now wait for the excuses.

Jeez....what a horror weekend for the Scott brothers. They've coached so well all year but now both their teams come out looking like stunned rabbits in the finals. Seemingly completely mentally unprepared.

Is it just me or did three quarters of the Kangaroos look like they didn't even want to be there from the first bounce? Like they all had the flu or something.

At least the Cats regained some semblance of a game plan and fought it out. North just look like a rabble.

So. West Coast V Collingwood. Bring it on :)

The first quarter was so un-Geelong like I couldn't believe what I was seeing! Don't recall ever witnessing class players like Bartel, Chapman etc fumbling, kicking out of bounds, generally looking thoroughly rattled. Must have been so frustrating for Cats fans.

Credit to Freo though they played extremely well and maintained it for four quarters. Pav was brilliant.

The Cats didnt bring their "Hawthorn" game last night.

They showed Freo no respect early and were keen to blame the umpires late.

Maybe if Tomahawk, Chappy and Jpod had imagined they were playing the Hawks, they would have returned more than 0.2

"If Hawkins stopped when he heard the siren, would there have been any umpire in the land with enough balls to call play on, thus ending the game?"

You didnt ask a question about the rule at all, you asked whether there would be an umpire with "enough balls" to call play on.

You've suggested that it should be play on and it has been clearly pointed out to you that its not.

You are wrong.

I would have thought the "Just a question though", was enough evidence that I was asking a question.

Pretty clear.

G'day.

I barrack for Hawthorn, have done for nearly 50 years.

Umpires were great on Friday night, one of their best efforts of the season.

Reason Hawthorn lost was 50 point deficit early.

Won't be happening again.

All the best.

On the basis that he would have taken longer than his allotted 20 seconds.

Play on is then called.

I thought that would have been pretty clear.

That is not a question bluesman.

It is a factually incorrect statement.

That is where you are wrong.

I thought that would have been pretty clear.

The 20 second rule was brought in to stop time wasting.

If the clock has run down and the siren has gone, then the player kicking for goal doesnt have any time left to waste. He can take as long as he likes.

Pretty clear rule really.
